@playerkp420 , thanks for the pics, although i don't see the power/eject connector on any of the pics.

i'll have to admit pictures like the next one, makes me drool, because of the high quality.

lol funny aint you

@JAGULAR1974
@playerkp420

can you both take good shots of and hopefully inside the usb ports
there may be a short inside them.

when i did the rear usb mod i had the same thing happen when i shorted then by mistake.
so i'm wondering if the pins inside have moved across or sunk back and are shorting

desoldering TH3301 would unload the usb ports, i'm almost 100% sure judging the crappy pictures.

@playerkp420 if you don't put the psu into place but only connect the ribbon cable, do you get the classic ylod? or is it still the same thing.

Not sure what you mean. What ribbon cable? And if I don't have the psu on, how would it get any power?

Here is another attempt at some pics. Probably my last, I think I'm gonna ship it back with a "sorry I can't fix it "

i only mean, don't put the psu on the metal prongs so the board won't get 12V on startup.

the ribbon is enough for standby and a attempt to start the ps3.

thanks for the pics.

OK i took apart ps3 to get at usb ports and checked resistance as below and found the following differing results between the 2 ports, as you can see there is a short in the right port as no resistance and coincidently this was the port that was charging the helicopter when the ps3 powered down and would not restart, all the other connections on the ports were similar except for the ones highlighted below. does it seem that the right port is faulty and preventing start up (fingers crossed)

@JAGULAR1974 , picture is too small try again.

got it working now.

EDIT: @JAGULAR1974 , check this picture from the fat ps3, it will guide you.
or there's a short in the port or the part i marked with the red circle , and you should measure 1K (see pic)
