You said you patched and flashed your patched dump. The patches allow for FSM firmware install.
If the console has been flashed with the patched dump, and is in FSM, and you don't have USB with Lv2diag.self to call what function you want, it will shut off when it can't find it.

Put the files I linked on the root of your fat32 formatted USB. Put the USB in the right port and turn the PS3 on. If it starts installing the firmware, then that was your problem. Make sure the hdd is connected when you do it.
If it just shuts off again, that means:
1. You flashed a non valid dump and bricked. To fix solder the wire to keep the ps3 on and flash a patched valid dump.
2. Your clip or soldering is not correct, so the flashing did not flash correctly. To fix, solder the wire to keep the ps3 on and reseat the clip or correct the soldering.

Thumbs up

thx for confirm playerkp420, i was sure it goes off when u trigger FSM at this stage(after downgrade) and try to boot the PS3, it goes off, so yeah i guess he was on the right track and just needed to install the PUP from FSM using enter lv2diag.self, let's hope its that or else if he got a valid one...restore it or else first redump..redump until u have good one(per console keys) and just patch (COREOS) again like usual

you need to elaborate who's guide you are following. You can't just flash your original dump without the e3downgrade.bin on the sd card with your dump. Or you either have to patch your dump. Flashing back an unpatched dump without the downgrade.bin will just put you back to the start.

You can't use your dump to unbrick your friends console.
