for the people who are confused what i said

when he downloaded a game on windows laptop he got blackscreen (see my update)

but then he tried another game also on the windows laptop and its working well (see @noidea 's update)
on the mac EVERY game didnt work so it seems like the windows PC is OK and the first game was just a bad backup
he will try another game now

but i still think the USB-stick is a little bit.....not ok

UPDATE: we are now trying FTP because you dont need any usb-sticks to transfer the games from PC to PS3
i told @noidea to test his RAM/HDD on the mac
dont know if he's going to do that or not

I had the same problem months ago...MACs do something funny to the eboot and param file in the game iso, so it gets all messed up.

If you download the original eboot and param file for the game on your MAC and put it in the right iso folders it will work, or just simply re-download the whole game to a windows pc.

but i honestly THANK FaxiY for his outstanding support .
without him i would have thrown my ps3 into the bin!

Just for the record:
- the hdd problem was solved using the wipe tool by ccleaner
- 80010006 was because of using mac for downloading and copying backups on the ps3.

but lets check if its really the mac's software or the hardware
i'll advise him to check his RAM(memtest86+) and HDD on the mac
if there are no problems then its really the os of the mac
strange how macs do such things...
