from wiki. (for everyone else reading the thread)

NORway

Work has been underway to brink a low cost AVR (Atmel 90USB1286) based NOR flasher that is capable of reading and writing on all consoles by defyboy. This was opensourced and further enhanced, now known as NORway for Teensy 2.0++ boards

i read that dumping nand is very expansive but possible with some hacking tools
some sure ways to get complete access to nand (read+write) are using xD and smartmedia cards also some usb drives can do the job
the paralel port in older computers can surely read and write nand but you need 2 hours to read only 20mb and errors can happen

PNM was created by no_one

http://www.ps3devwiki.com/wiki/Hardware_flashing

PNM

"No_One" has developed PNM - The PS3 NOR Manager is a custom board based on a FPGA (Altera Cyclone3 EP3C25) and 2 flash sockets. PNM is capable to handle the basic features like read/dump/update/copy but also to swap (hot swap or cold swap) the NOR used. It also enbles features to sniff bus activities, emulate NOR flash etc

?? eh
progskeet does nand directly and cheeply and quickly

its that when you dump nand you get bad blocks so it needs handling with care.

but it appears as though it can be dumped by a nor dumper (also progskeet) TEENSY++ E3
via the starship2 chip

but this way you dont get bad blocks

i'm allways late to find interesting / helpfull stuff

it gets me why nobody asked him about it in the thread i linked in the main post.
it looks like he was just ignored.
real shame that

esp as it looks like he was wanting to be asked by the way he posted.

what channel does he go into do you know?
