i will edit my post if i have some usefull tips. ![]() EDIT: @JAGULAR1974 , ok new picture, still i have not enough detailled pics to judge everything. first measure again both ports if you not made a mistake, then closely examine the faulty port if there isnt a short somewhere. i can't locate the part i marked in the earlier image, it may look different on your board. ( i added the part for a sem board in the image, it looks like a transistor) i also marked the TH3301, it's the same number as in my diagram i posted from the semboard, so it's the same thermal resistor. desoldering it from the board would unload the 2 usb ports. jsd-001

yes 1 ohm on the one and 1k on the other
i think this is all getting above my head i'll probably send it for repair if anyone know's someone to recommend i would be very grateful with no expectation of repair, I wouldn't expect repair but seeing as i'm not able to follow schematics or locate wiring problems i think i should send it to someone a lot more pro than me. so you actually do have a short on that port, did you looked into the port to see if there was something wrong?
the problem is if you want to find out where the short is you have to or see what is wrong, or desolder maybe 2 parts from the mainboard, to locate the problem. |

@JAGULAR1974
, don't think so.
![]() did you considered to desolder TH3301, it will unload the usb ports (they will get no voltage whatsoever, and you can try how the ps3 reacts to it.
