I know this is such a long time ago, but I should have taken your advice. I bought a new PS3 Super Slim instead and almost 2 months later the BD stopped reading discs. It was the same nightmare all over again. Anyway, could I follow the same procedures to try and fix this problem as with the PS3 Slim? Or are the fixes completely different.

On a super slim you have no way to run said fixes as you need cfw to use it, and with your model you are Sol I'm sorry to say

Thanks for the response. I think I just have bad luck with PS3's so next time i'll buy an xbox!
