Exclamation Ps3 beeps 3 times and red light flash when switch is on

I need help. My PS3 won't turn on the red light flashes as soon as i plug it in and switch the toggle in the bACK to on. I'm completely stumped. It beeps three times and then the red light keeps flashing. I'm pretty sure it's not Ylod. Please help!!!

What did you do before this started?

What is your model #?

What firmware is it on?

Model#: CECHK01
I have no idea what firmware it's on

It automatically starts blinking red once i plug it in. Beeps 3 times then continues to flash red.

Thanks for the reply

Thanks for the reply
So it wasn't on CFW? You weren't trying some funky stuff, installing something or doing an update and lost power?

Or you don't know, because you bought the PS3 like that?

It could be many things. The 3 beeps and red blinking light is:
RLOD

RLOD - Flashing Red Led of Death

Failure in the loaders stage. Suspects: Flash content: CoreOS files - pre VSH.

Seen in combination with poweroff when downgrading below metldr/bootldr capability
SOURCE

But I have also seen that symptom be a hardware issue.
To narrow down if it is a hardware or software issue, you can do this.
Solder a wire from the NOR Tristate to a GND point. If the PS3 stays on with solid green light and no video, it means it is a Software brick. (corrupted flash)
If it still does the same thing, then it is a hardware issue. Could be PSU, GPU, CPU, or any of the other culprits for YLOD.
Use this pic to find the points to solder.

Look at this pic to know where the points are.

@bmob222 Report back ASAP because we need constant feedback to give proper solutions read what @playerkp420 said. It's important and might save you PS3 even if you bricked.

If you don't have soldering skills. Please don't do anything and report back.

@playerkp420 , soldering the tristate would be useless i think, the ps3 not even booted if i read it correctly.

there must be something wrong around the syscon or too low voltage from the psu?

lol guessing right now.

Like it says on the wiki:
RLOD

RLOD - Flashing Red Led of Death

Failure in the loaders stage. Suspects: Flash content: CoreOS files - pre VSH.

If that is the problem, soldering the tristate will make the PS3 GLOD. To keep the PS3 on to try and unbrick.

If it is a hardware problem, like the PSU or something, then it won't stay on.

That is why you need to solder the wire, to narrow down the problem.

I have had the same model, that was a brick from someone tried downgrading lower than the factory firmware.
As soon as the switch was turned on, I didn't even press power, it would beep 3 times and give flash red light.

I fixed it, by doing this.
