Yes, I went straight to latest rogero. Hopefully there is no need to go back to 3.55 as I see more and more people are switching to rogero. Couldn't have done this without your help. Much appreciated. Just happy all this went well on my first go, as I had that dreadful Samsung NOR chip. ************* [ - Post Merged - ] ************* The only stupid mistake I made was, that I didn't back up my saves before doing this, and they are all gone, the hdd was wiped out. Maybe that is worth mentioning in the tutorial. Thanks Last edited by gandalfnz; 01-18-2013 at 05:17 PM. |

I have a CECH 2004B ps3, so my nor chip is rotated 90 degrees. Is it possible to properly install the e3 on this? How?
Also, do you have to reapply thermal paste? If yes, where can I buy it? Thanks! |

It is recommended to re-apply fresh thermal paste ( AS5 or MX-4 ). you can buy it from ebay.

Do you have to re-apply the thermal paste also when downgrading the ps3? I will not use dual boot.

So I have to apply it two times, first time when placing my e3 flasher and a second time when removing the flasher?

It is a bit tricky though. Just selotape two coins on top of the clip when you put the cover back on while doing the downgrade (remove them when finished and applying thermal paste). Also you will most probably need to sand the edge of the E3 clip in order to be able to fit it over the chip. |
