Either there is an unban solution that allows us to login into PSN with a BLANK console ID or PLEASE, stop making ID spoofers, ID changers ID ID ID !
You will end up stealing someone elses ID for your own benefit! That is just a disrespectful way of achieving your own objectives, this is not a jungle, there is no laws about the stronger wins!

Perhaps we should do our own ban wave.
Even if you arent banned, use this tool to change your ID then invade Black Ops 2 servers, get banned, use another. The point of this would be to to get as many legitimate users banned as possible, and then get them to complain to $ony. If $ony are banning users for no reason then they'll have to do it another way, assuming of course $ony care/are forced to do so, if not then they will lose more customers. Let's hit $ony hard!

I was Gunna say Sony won't unban shit all, why would they?
They can see cfw on their servers, they ban. In my eyes that is the right thing to do. As that is right, then to unban it is wrong. Simples...

I like most members on here so I'm not attacking you, but they're some who need to get their head straightened out.
I hear alot of stories about how they got banned doing nothing but going to the store any syncing trophies. Then a few days later they change the story and claim they hacked a game but didn't affect anyone online. The people who claim they haven't done anything are either lying or they don't remember because they didn't think it would ban them. This unbanning crap has gone too far. Xbox 360 users get banned all the time, they accept it and move on. This console ID stealing is sad and pathetic, here's an idea...break in someone's house and steal their ps3. Because logic would tell you it's not a good idea and it's immoral, but since it's digital theft it doesn't impact me or my life. I go on psn with my cfw console since my fat ofw died. But even then I wish for Sony to killswitch for those who keep unbanning themselves to play their cheats, hacks or COD. It's time to man up and accept the fact you got caught doing something you shouldn't have and move on. If you could unban yourself without stealing another ID, I'd say go ahead, but you're putting both ofw users and cfw users at risk solely on selfishness so you can enjoy yourselves. track IPs and send a nice juicy bill to every hacker and if the console_IDs get all banned they'd just use the mac-address or the PSID to ban cfw users

This debate has been going on for many weeks - ever since people started unbanning their PS3s. Yet most of the arguments about it are utter conjecture.
For example I don't believe even one single person has clearly explained how legitimate console_ids are ever being stolen. THIS IS A VERY LONG-WHINDED EXPLANATION: 1) People have tried using random console_ids and / or guessing legitimate console_ids. Nobody has ever reported that to have worked. 2) The console_id used to be just ignored my Sony. But now its whitelisted (meaning you need a valid one to log in), ever since Sony started the first ban wave(s) for those people they detected on CFW. 3) The console_id is too long to guess. Nobody has (yet) published an algorithm or code / system with which to generate one. This might be on purpose by Sony, or it might be that nobody is clever enough to figure it out. 4) It is really difficult for someone to figure out your OFW console_id. They would need to snoop the network data (packets) being sent to PSN when you log in. So they can only do that with some sophisticated spyware on something compromised on your LAN (not your PS3 itself). Or otherwise, you would have to have taken your PS3 to some dodgy shop, for repair or something. Or a staged LAN party or something like that. It would hardly ever happen. Nearly everybody just keeps their PS3s at home all the time. 5) By contrast, there are many people who have screwed up their consoles trying to downgrade them / install CFW. And also people might sucessfully downgeade, but because they opened their console it will later on die of YLOD/RLOD/GLOD basically overheating BGA solder. 6) THESE people can just look in their dumps of their broken consoles and give up their console_id to others. Or use it themselves if they have a second console. 7) Its far more likely that somone who has themselves moved to CFW will have their console_ids stolen since it is easier - they just have to give their dumps to someone else on the internet theey shouldn't have trusted. Then that guy (or basically anyone if they uploaded their dump to a public file sharing site). Can steal the console_id of THOSE people, since it is far easier to do that way. 8) Since they are so hard to come by, this is why CFW users all share the same few, valuable console_ids. Since there is no reason to waste them too quickly that would just exasberate the problem and turn people more desperate towards stealing console_ids from other users. It's really not necessary for the time being. 9) There are many ways to get banned. But mostly (if we just ignore TreyArch / Black Ops 2), the usual way is that somebody forgets to use PS_Ninja etc to hide their tracks and logs in to PSN after running a homebrew app. But we can also imagine Sony are getting better at detecting CFWs all the time. 10) It's really not important to Sony whether you agree that people should comply with their Online Access agreement. At the moment, Sony know that only OFW users who put their PS3's on an uncontrolled / unsecured LAN can have their console_ids unwittingly stolen. An exception for that situation may already in their agreement (i don't actually know myself). 11) Unless /until we can generate legitimate (whitelisted) console_ids. Then Sony doesn't need to change it's policy regarding banning console_ids. From a technical standpoint, it just seems to be working for them. 12) What the heck do legitimate OFW users have to complain about yet, since Sony's Policy is still working satisfactorily? It just does not affect them. 13) If it's about cheaters - they don't exist for very long since OFW users just need to report them to TreyArch, Sony, and they will be soon banned. No problems. 14) For the other CFW users who are not cheating - again what right to OFW users have to complain for? Their activities are not affecting OFW use of the Sony PSN / SEN online network whatsoever! 15) If you are objecting to unbanning because you have a general opinion about piracy, then you are disagreeing only on that basis. Which has got absolutely nothing to do with the technicalities of PS3 console_ids and / or getting banned. So you are contributing literally nothing to the discussion regarding the technicalities of banning / unbanning. I believe even the OP who started this thread, Hellsing9 has got it all wrong here. |
