i'm lost....the problem is whatever is already tryed before this
i posted that a normal "first timer" brick without messing arround is fixed by using the original dump so it boots back into OFW, if that doesn't work ROS0/1 on flash is corrupt
then try the "default way" original bkpps3.bin+e3_downgrade.bin
if it still trows an error..what error..thats also nice to help more...
then try the 355coreos patched way (1UP-rest DOWN) does it give the controller screen? proceed with FSM firmware install
black screen? restore it twices in a row
btw....the wiki is edited cuse first it showed always to try unbricking first using the "default way" = + e3_downgrade.bin
now it shows the otherway round = patched355 first

then we have the new way = 3 musk patches+recovery way

isn't it a BAD FSM payload stuff?

Update:
i spent yesterday about an hour on the Gtalk.
now his PS3 it turning off, i told him to wire TRI to SBE,
and i will wait till he do it.

turning off is bad flash in normal case so yeah like already posted he must halt the PS3 and go from there, he got all he need to restore, some info about a CECHL04 brick on my end(not messed arround after initial bad flash/downgrade) was fixed by using the "original" E3 way = bkpps3.bin+e3_downgrade.bin+the logfile = connect PS controller and FSM install rogero 3.7 etc....

i think we helped enough so far, in the end he's the one that need to fix it, would be nice to have a teleport? machine so we could fix it

anyway..wish him luck and sure it wil unbrick if doing this properly

hey mate ...me got my own PS3MFW trouble j/k...anyways good news so i take he restores the original OFW dump, well u can verify the patched files or just use the original [2]folder way = e3_downgrade, also attached the three musketeer patched dump, i'm sure he's up and running in no-time

lol..IF i figure it out ...i'm close..switched arround some and first problem is something with the database > db.xml(SHA1 verify) and (guesing here) ps3mfw_tasks.tcl

overwrited stuff to euss old 355 build and tested a 4.30 OFW, when nothing "checked" it rebuilds the PUP, tested another time with "priv_patch task" and i come as far as extracting everything, when it starts modifying it spits out an error: fatal error...could not decrypt file "x3_amgsdk.sprx child killed lol what : unknown signal and done...it's something easy/overlooking but what it is..for the moment i give up

you know i am more famelier with the Progskeet not the E Flasher.
yesterday we fixed the PS3 to OFW 4.20 and started with him to downgrade the PS3 using @playerkp420 guide and bailys.

everything went ok, dumping validating, patching with Rogero v0.1.
but when try to flash back he says, it gives me one solid blue light and never goes to the end, i told him to press Stop for 30 sec and press Start again, did not work.
we tried all the switched down, all down except the last up, fun flash all down except the first. it all freeze on the first light.
also we tried the one key method and the patched Dump.

but when he sent back the original dump it takes it but the lights do not show,
so we back again to OFW again.
what could be the problem here?

hmzz..weird...so he can restore OFW dump without problem, then after restoring OFW dump, the console boots into XMB..correct?

if he makes a new dump from OFW, is it identical to the first?

when doing the downgrade,

either using the default e3_downgrade+original bkpp3.bin and SWITCH 6 UP or

with a patched 355COREOS bkpps3.bin with ALL SWITCHES DOWN(or with FIRST SWITCH UP-Flash fun if PS3 wont stay on)

u talking about the blue leds not shining, he is sure that everything is connected properly? then again it should not take the OFW either, but u say that it takes it but no blue leds??

i'm a little clueless atm....only differents when restoring/flashing is the LAST SWITCH(UP or DOWN) up with e3_downgrade.bin and DOWN with a patched one


why not try this:
OFW 4.xxx the dump showed 4.20 if i remember correctly?

then re-install the same OFW 2 times in a row to clean banks and have NOR ROS0/1 filled with clean OFW files, make a new dump, if he's below 4.31 he can use the new way > patched OFW dump with three musk patches, so patch the new original bkpps3.bin with that(the good way) and flash it with ALL SWITCHES DOWN, reboot into Recovery and install Rogero 4.30 2.05 from it

if he's at 4.31 he must use the OLD 355 patches
