Help with transferring GT.VOL (11.8gb)
i have a GT5 backup on my PC, from my FW 3.41 jailbreak, before i reformatted my HDD and updated to 3.55, just wonderingh how to get around transferring the file, its almost 12gb, i have a 60gb external HDD (fat32) for backing up games onto, just wondering how can i get around this.
also if i split the file, will comgenies file manager, recognize the split files and join it together on the internal HDD, or something that is able to join split files on the PS3. (also if i split it using 7zip, it splits to 1x .rar file, and multiple .r00, .r01 etc. till .r22) thanks =D |

download split4g and have it look in the BCUS or BLES or whatever folder it is called...it will split the 11gb file into a bunch of .666 files....go to your backed up game folder and delete the 11gb gt5.vol file and leave the .666 files. put the backup onto your external hd that is FAT32 formated inside the GAMEZ folder...then use gaia manager to transfer it to your internal hd....gaia manager will merge the .666 files together at the end. you should be set then

just used comgenies awesome file splitter, and transferred to my ps3 via comgenies awesome file manager yay it works =D
************* [ - Post Merged - ] ************* and it does not work in anyway from external, tried many ways, my friend says burning to a bluray disc and using a bm to load the game from the disc works fine, but i dont have a bluray writer. ************* [ - Post Merged - ] ************* petter_87 why dont you just use your original disc, i didnt notice that much of a loadding difference beetween hdd and cd for gt5, (well i did =P but disc loading times are not too bad). |

This thread is interesting to me, what I would like to know is has anyone figured out how to decompress the file GT.VOL? I know .PSARC files have been decompressed and that worked out fairly well.
