lol....this guide is not that bad IF everything goes as planned = e3clip fitted all the way from first time, the only thing MISSING here is a proper validate, so the GUIDE is working IF people STOP after step1 = making dump, then come here with that dump and send it to the guys for VALIDATE...validated OK?! whop go back and use this guide coming from youtube

i never failed to downgrade a console nor have i ever bricked one

now for the guide and because i used this guide on my (perm) bricker, it lacks a proper dump validate and the second thing that it lacks, although it won't brick the console if u stay at Rogero after initial downgrade, so yeah it lacks the "dehash part" aswell

i think at the time he made this in great quality guide it wasn't known!! that part and that came later like updated/better Progskeet patches etc....

lemme revise the guide a little to make it proper:

1) watch the tutorial to have a good feeling howto disassemble the ps3 to the bone (think he did 1 for PHAT yes right, and also one for SLIM)

yes my old man always said it to..don't think to much.u need to know for sure..btw...it made him mad..calling him "ouwe" old man

2) Properly connect the E3 flasher, u can go here on hax and take alook at the howto/tips from playerkp420 etc..what is required to the E3clip to fit "properly" on each PS3

in this point of view, the guide is perfect cuse ofcourse people should do some research before taking on this project, and if u notice all goes perfect in the video as it's all perfectly installed( the cultprit of the whole brick problem

3) reassemble the PS3 if u decide to perm install the flasher or do ther downgrade bare-bone, this guide is made to perm-install the E3 flasher into the PS3

4) Step1 in the guide is to make a backup of the NOR flash, so make a backup as explained in the guide..then STOP and take brake first

5) validate the dump using the ps3devwiki/HxD if u can do it, else join ps3hax and send ur dump to the volanteers that validate it for u and wait patiently, these guys are busy and u can't expect them to "validate" it right away....at the end u 100% sure it's a proper backup with everything intact, the famous "per console info"

this is really important cuse without the proper/valid dump and moving on with STEP 2 - Restore dump as showing in the video wil PERM BRICK in most cases....

Note!

Although STEP 2 - restoring is not required, it can't hurt IF and only IF u have a proper OFW dump of that particular PS3, as u can't use any other's PS3 dump, each PS3 is different!!

6) now after proper validating of that dump in STEP 1 u can just follow the guide to the end without any change of BRICKING.. >>> if u stay on that Firmware = Rogero 3.7a(4.25 spoofed)

7) here it lacks another important factor = proper DEHASHING = set qa flag on Ps3 - fully dehash the 2 banks on the NOR flash (the firmware parts of the dump/NOR flash)

why that dehashing??

well the Rogero that is made for the downgrade has it's lv1 checks removed..also going by the name of a "no-check PUP / nochecker ... if those checks where not removed, it would brick on the initial downgrade cuse the PS3 won't accept it!! now if AT THAT TIME stayed on that firmware...there was no problem of bricking, only when u decided to install ANY OTHER 355 CFW (with the lv1checks in place in the 355 CFW) it would brick on installing, that's why u need to properly dehash the downgraded PS3 before installing any other 355 CFW, so yes really important! but i guess it was known only after people that tested it and installed another 355 CFW...whop...brick..hmm how come? then they found out about it and new info come arround the corner but u wont loose sleep over it at the time if u had a proper backup of the NOR flash, yes really important

one can argue all day about this, if u followed everything properly at the time of posting that youtube guide(yes all other youtube CFW sh*t is fake indeed) bookmark ps3hax...it's all u need but hey not all noobs know that..so many info..u can't expect people to know it all..like for example @jhax78 ....they are born perfect...i guess he also sh*t golden eggs can i have some..) and the E3 Flasher properly installed.

now if people also read everything multiple times before moving on with the project, including myself u won't be sitting with a brick in the first place, but mistakes are easy made, that's why STEP 1 - creating the NOR backup/dump is most important of it all

this is a never ending story anyway.....i recommended u go write a book about it or better yet a movie, it got all the drama/comedy etc.. to make a 3 hour movie, and i would like to be the figurant if possible ...u can reconise me..i'm in the back observing it all and....laughing it off with a fat joint
