Thanks eveyone for the help, looks like my best bets are to order another FSM but I can't find anywhere descent to get em in England. I've got a PSKit but that thinks useless, the files for it just don't exist.

all the patching might work etc...just looked up that post by Rogero with good news for OFW4.31 users on metldr1/factory v 3.56

Also, a new version of the PS3 Auto Nor Patcher is in the work with a new CFW v2.06 that will make the downgrading procedure very simple ( and will be compatible also for PS3's on OFW4.31 with Factory version 3.56, no FSM will be needed to any downgrade anymore

how long this will take? nobody knows except for Rogero himself, i think with the new CFW 2.06 it takes it via the recovery and no FSM dongle required..that takes some patients and i'm a little guessing on this but logic tells us it might work then... perhaps PM Rogero about it and ask him

I have been meaning to test that method on OFW 4.31. I didn't think it would work. But someone in that other thread, said he did it on OFW 4.31. But I believe he was mistaken.

Especially, when I found out he doesn't even know how to check the dump in a hex editor. Made me really think he was mistaken.

I will make sure to note that OFW 4.31 will not work, with Three Musk, in my guide.

it would keep looping/searching for an update..like playerkp420 already expierenced, it is simply coming from OFW 4.31 and the patches are only working upto 4.30

u asked Rogero btw? just shove it away for now..i kow it isn't the perfect answer but it might save alot of headeache if u gonna reflash....as this is another new brick and it doesn't always work on 4.xx when u flash back a patched 355 one e.g on rex 4.21.1 it only worked with restoring a backup of that firmware, sometimes ROS0/1 is a weird b*tch
