sorry im new to all this but after i put i finish with the e3 flasher i can take it out and put my hdd back and 3.55 will still be there

If your just downgrading then once you have flashed the patch / patched dump then unplug clip from the E3 board and putt your hdd in.
finnish the downgrade and when your happy it all works on then you can remove the clip and build the ps3 back up.

if your on a dual boot atm then just remove the E3 and it will be on the cfw, i think
(its all confusing at this time of night lol)

BAILEY - first off, a huge thanks for taking the time to help the noobs out there (like me) and for making the guide. I've heard cool stuff about the guide which is what's led me here.

Ok, quick question - with the leak of the LV0 keys and all of the latest and greatest in the world of haxing a PS3 - is the guide on page 1 of this thread still the latest updated resource for haxing and installing CFW on the PS3?

I just want to ensure my only option is a hardware hax before I embark on doing it.

My PS3 hasn't been updated since purchase, it's a phat unit Model CECH-3001B and currently has FW v3.65.

If your model is CECH-3001B, then you have a slim. And that model can not be jailbroken.

I'd like to let you know that I am on CFW 3.55 Kmeaw..And I plan to update my PS3 Slim (CECH-2012A) to Rogero CFW 4.30 v.2.05 and OFW 4.31

So the files that you have provided for Fast Boot (E3 Flasher programs), can I use them with these aforementioned Firmwares (Rogero CFW 4.30 v.2.05 and OFW 4.31), because I have downloaded the files(E3 Flasher programs) and the firmware that is in that folder is CFW 3.55
