Iris Manager version 1.50.5

Just installed Iris Manager version 1.50.5

I notice in the translated change log :

- MC now is cached on internal HDD and updated on the original folder returning to Iris Manager.

My experience:

In the game options for PS1 game there is an open for Internal_VMC.VM1. Since I have also created a VMC in XMB (PS1 VMC), "PS1 VMC.VM1" is also listed. Now I see an option (Press [] to copy as internal VMC).

1. When I set XMB "PS1 VMC.VM1" as MC1 and start the game, I can't able to save the game. It is as if no MC is loaded. I did not had this problem in 1.50.2

2. Now I set "Internal_VMC.VM1" as MC1 and start the game. I am able to save/load game. When I exit back to XMB and return to Iris, doe it suppose to copy Internal_VMC.VM1 as PS1 VMC.VM1? If it supposed to do it, when I exit Iris, and return to XMB, the are no save listed in PS1 VMC. I have even try the refresh trick.

How does it suppose to work? Thank you.

it's wise always to wait a while

Estwald released 1.50.6 (230240)

I have an idea for codebreaker for Iris Manager.

Renaming codebreaker as "disc1.bin" or "game_name_cd1.bin" is counter-productive. If you have 30 folders of PSX games in your HDD/USB, you will have 30 copies of codebreaker in each game folder. Although it works but it is not an ideal solution.

What If -

We treat codebreaker as a game and create a folder "codebreaker" and place codebreaker.bin into it. When Iris Manager loads, it will see codebreaker as a game. We need an option like this (concept image) in the game setting.

After selecting your game, Iris Manager save the .cfg and returns to main screen. So now, when you launch codebreaker, and after selecting your cheats, it will ask for disc change. If you perform unplug/plug and press [O], it will load your selected game with cheats.

What do you think?

For all other/normal game, users can set the option to "None".

Can someone please forward this idea to Estwald, dev of Iris Manager.

Thank you.

Right... but notice that the version is 1.50.6 (230240)... few minutes after I posted 1.50.6 on Brewology, Estwald updated Iris with the same version 1.50.6 but the time was different (230240) -> JAN23 02:40am

. It has a fix about a problem with a poke on 3.55 (not mentioned in your post)

Your idea is great although I think a better and easier to develop solution would be to implement a txt file per game folder (like the one used for PS2 data) indicating the path for the additional ISO.

It would work like the hard link in the internal HDD... Indeed if you copy the PSX folders with the ISOS to /dev_hdd0/PSXGAMES and make hard link copies of Codebreaker using multiMAN's mmOS (LOL) you can have it replicated multiple times as "disc1.bin" (eg. for each game) without using extra space (only disk space for 1st copy and just few KB per additional hard link copy)

Copy the required files (keys, ldr_curves and vsh_curves) to the DATA folder. You can get these files from several ps3 resigners and tools

@MIDCO1987 make sure that your ISO is MODE2/2352 (CD XA). Some PSX games don't play music if they are MODE1/2352.
