ps3 slim 160gb fan goes crazy and shut power down

Hi there,

I have problem with my ps3 that i've bought one half year ago in germany. Now when i came back to poland i tried to use my ps3 for the first time and... And it suprised me. After +- 3 seconds fan goes crazy fast, there's no video, after +-10 seconds with crazy fan, power turns off, there's no blinking lights. Have to put cabel in, to turn the console again on.

I checked everything inside and didn't see anything wrong. Electric said the power supply is ok. But im not sure for it. In one hour ill send video what happens.

Any ideas friends?

I've looked in internet for the same problem, didnt found anything.

it almost looks like the fan test....

your eject button is probably @stuck? , because if i'm correct you don't press the power button to turn it on.

My phat did that once when I changed the thermal paste. Turns out I had forgot to put the clamps back on that presses down on the heatsink. So there was no contact between the cpu/gpu and heatsink.
Could be something similar in your case,so make sure you have good contact to the heatsink.

what is your ps3 model number if it's a 20xx or lower you can pull out the power/eject ribbon cable and try to start the console by inserting a disc.

btw, if you say the buttons are stuck then you know what your problem is, forget about the thermal paste for now.

I wonder why can't I control the power button, maybe the power supply gets an error before system with buttons start to work properly?

I think ... when problem is connectec with motherboard, then the buttons should answer me? The lights should say something?

When I put out the buttons ribbon ps3 won't start.
