My 3.60 PS3 has been in the cupboard the last 10 months while I waited for a solution. I finally gave in and paid someone to downgrade it to 3.55

The first thing I did was upgrade to Rogero and the installation went smoothly.

Nope you did the same thing as me.

Do you have multiple USB devices plugged in?, if so just use the one for your backups on external.

If all else fails try download mM 04.18.00 BASE again, delete your old installation, instal the freshly downloaded one, and reinstall 04.18.00 BASE.

From there if it fails again, check your settings .. works fine for me.

Um I had my external drive in port 4 and a usb cable for controller in port 1. I will try deleting MM and trying again. thanks.

So deleting multiman and reinstalling 4.18 full didnt work (still black screen). I restored file system, reinstalled firmware and still same issue. I can run disks fine but any thing else black screens. Also takes a LONG time to restart from anything system related (file system, firmware, standard restart, ect.)

This is making me wish I had just stayed on 3.55

OFW 4.31 unless you can downgrade and it's not the new slims

So download it again.

Chances are your download was corrupted.

Also: always check the MD5 hash before even attempting to install CFW or OFW. Better to be safe than sorry.

I'm on 3.55kmeaw currently (but have been on other cfw and psjb versions previously). I've always plugged my external into port 1 (the farthest left one) and my controller charging usb cable in the 2nd port. Have you tried that?

Or maybe your games messed up cuz you had modified game files (Param.sfo, eboots, etc from 3.55? Try getting the original files maybe? <-- Can someone confirm if that might be an issue and will it be necessary to change to the original eboot/param files for those of us upgrading from 3.55Kmeaw to 4.30Rogero?
