Hi everyone


I recently got a phat ps3 with the FW 3.4. Im not completly a noob in things of jailbreaking and stuff (as i already did for PSP and jtagged+flashed my xbox) but I still thought asking wouldnt be bad (this is what forums are for )
I've read some tutorials etc, many say I need a OFW under 3.55, doesent matter which one. Other say I need to update to 3.55. So im not quite sure if I should update to OFW 3.55 first or not...
Anyway, my primary question is:
I thought the ps3 is still stuck on its 3.55 cfw, which doesnt allow to play newer games (or have to wait for patches)
But today I also read about the new 4.3v2 (or was it 4.31?)
Anyway, I still see tutorials telling me to go on 3.55 cfw. I dont know why?
Doesnt the 4.3 allow me to play all games without waiting for patches or some other kinds of stuff? Are there some cons? I know that some homebrew wont work, but that stuff will get updated to the new one I believe? That would fix itself over time I think.
Is the scene moving over to the new CFW? Or does it have some stability issues or whatever?
A great bonus is also the online connection.
Another question is, can I go from 3.4 (or 3.55 if i need the lastest OFW) directly to 4.3 CFW? And since these are CFW I suppose I can downgrade to 3.55 or to OFW without the needs of any device or whatever?

Also, goddamn this ps is so ****ing quiet compared to my airport xbox haha

I can take an older tutorial and jump straight to 4.3 (v2 it the lastest isnt it?) cfw instead of 3.55?

Ok you are confusing! You have 4.3 0fw now or 3.4

Hehe, I have the OFW 3.4 and was asking about the CFW 4.3

Ok you need to download ofw 3.55 from the download section here at hax and install via recovery, then download the latest rogero cfw 4.3 v2.05 and install via xmb and you are good to go. Do you know how to install firmwares in the fashion I mention

Thats all already? Just download OFW 3.55, install it (via recovery) and then download cfw 4.3 and install that (via xmb)
After that I suppose to install things like multiman etc.

Well that would be the fastest "hack" I've ever done to a console lol.

I know it is confusing when you first read about it, but this is the case with the PS3 Scene.

Getting CFW 4.3 can only be done if you are on OFW or CFW 3.55 or less,
and can not be done if you are on OFW larger than that.
Example: if you are on OFW 3.4 as you you would update to OFW 3.55 and from there go to CFW 4.3.

if you are on OFW 3.56+ you have to downgrade to 3.55 (If Your PS3 downgradeeble) via Hardware flasher, then install CFW 4.3.

yep that is the lot mate easy as pie. Once done download and install multiMAN or iris manager, and what not.

You are one of the lucky ones having PS3 with OFW less than 3.55. wait till you get your hand on one With OFW Larger then 3.55
