about 5 freezes for me on release day. I stopped playing and have been waiting for a US release. When it booted up asking to check for errors I always pressed O to not scan since using that in the past has caused 2 formats of my HDD.

Btw i just tried the jap version of the game, it has exactly the same issue.
I first tried to play the game without loading a saved game and it worked for 3 hours like a charm. Right after i tried to load the saved game and then the first freeze came after 40 minutes or so.
I didn't find any fix for the jap version and this makes me think that there will be none for this EU version too...

Strange, if the freezes have been there since the beginning then why hasn't there been an outcry? The legit US buyers are playing the game hassle-free. Maybe it is some kind of anti-piracy measure.

I will wait until they fix it. I have it on external and internal and it freezes and lags on both. I cant stand it. Barely made it to drippies homeworld before giving up.

The freezes are completely random, i played a 5+ hour session without any problems and in another one the game froze after just 10 minutes.

For the freezes during battles some people have reported that trying to not spam X to select your action somewhat prevents them or at least makes them less frequent.

Guys have you thought about it being the console, cause resistance 3 still wont play on my 80gb phat nor will black ops 2, even after a reball and Arctic silver thermal paste added to it. Those are only 2 games not working on my console. I've been playing this game alot, at 10hrs in and no crashes only slow down getting back into the world after a fight. If I'm in dungeon (like the forest or trials, etc) it don't do that, only in the open world.

Too many people are having problems for it to be a console issue and i never had problems with any other game that i own, not even while playing during the hottest summer days.
Plus it seems like that even some people that bought the retail copy are experiencing freezes while playing.

yeah same thing was going on with Bops2 and Resistance 3, both had fixes to "solve" the problem in the begining of there updates. Yet people were still having the issue, I honestly think after going threw bops2 and resistance 3 doing that to my console its either some games are to demanding on some consoles or there is some kinda protection on the game thats causeing the ps3 to shut down or freeze. Im actually glad that bops2 didnt work for me, cause I played it on another console and it sucked, so much wrong with the game and freezing issues and there on OFW with legit copy >_<

I really dont think its the game causing this though. go to sonys forums and see if there is a thread about it or go too Level 5's forums or Ghibi's forums and see if people are reporting it there. Cause if they are then the develpoers may have some answers over in those forums that wont be found here ^_^

Oh well, maybe it's just a bad release or some kind of security drm.
Now i'm downloading the psn version just to see it the freezes persist.
