Just a question, while following @baileyscream guide, I always did dehashing by installing toggle_qa and then installing 3.55 kmeaw on top of the rogero 3.55 spoofed 4.11 ( for those who know the guide will know what I am talking about. )

But I was wondering if I could just install rogero 3.55 spoof 4.11 like the guide says, install toggle_qa and then update with rogero 4.30 v205 from xmb with a usb stick ? and skip the 3.55 kmeaw installation on recovery ( which I did only because of the keys )

morning nono dehashing must be done with OFW355 to clean the banks on NORflash, so the ps3 doesn't know better that it never left OFW355 preventing a nice brick

that kmeaw u have installed after the downgrade/rogero..MUST be that nochecker(same checks removed/lv1 checks) as that rogero..or u would have bricked on instant

please correct me wrong

@haz367 I though Rogero has been updated for a while to work without dehashing:

Patched LV1 to disable SYSTEM MANAGER INTEGRITY CHECK (to prevent Bricking on non-dehashed downgraded consoles) * Patched LV1 Core OS Hash Check (to prevent Bricking on non-dehashed downgraded consoles) * The CFW can be used directly for Downgrading with Hardware flashers /Flashing from FSM/Exiting from FSM, all works fine.

It can also be installed from XMB over ANY CFW/MFW or any OFW 1.00-3.55.

ah..i just left my cave again...thx for verifying that...but if u do the "default" downgrade then u still need to dehash correct?! ....ah learning every day something new

I thought not, but I could be wrong.

I thought Rogero stated you could downgrade directly to his CFW (with a flasher) without installing 3.55 OFW, or QA flagging (hence how it works on 3.56)

Its always better to be safe than sorry though, so if in doubt stick with a definite and proven way of doing it.

I followed rogeros way of dehashing, he meant 3.55 kmeaw was OK or any other ofw (3.55).

And my goal is to end my downgrade on Rogero 4.30 v205, which should be able to install on top of any cfw without dehashing ? like @DEFAULTDNB just mentioned.

in Theory if I am already on rogeros 3.55 spoof 4.11, I could just install rogero 4.30 v205 from xmb instead of installing kmeaw 3.55 first over recovery ?

well the thing is...i haven't really tested all....but it might happen later on..on accident u pick another firmware or after selling..the guy picks another..go up and down..and the sh*t hit the fan ....doing it this way the PS3 is never properly dehashed tho

Yeah you are right, at a longtime term, it will brick someday, as the person who gets the console goes wild and starts flashing other cfw's without knowing about the dehash.

Damn I just wanted to spare 10 mins of work

@katsuru you do not need dehashing anymore. it is used when 3.55 was the higher cfw. back at that time it was an important step. now you can install rogero cfw from everywhere. i downgrade directly to regero 4.3 v2.05 in fsm.
rogero confirmed all of this when he released v2.03.
