Only thing I can suggest is to do a fsm downgrade to rogero 3.55 v3.7 install an early multiMAN (like proper early) if it works, update via xmb to latest rogero cfw and find the 04.17.00 full multiMAN and try that.

From a clean install try multiMAN ver 04.17.00 BASE CEX (20121220).pkg which is 28.8MB

Run it once saying yes, yes, yes then quit and install the update if wanted.

Edit: By clean install I mean going to system settings and choosing to restore factory settings and quick formatting the hard drive. That will get rid of any conflicting files where multiman installs. If you install a BASE and then UPDATE without first running the BASE install it may cause problems in some cases.

To clarify, I'm on Kmeaw 3.55 at the moment. And to clarify my problem: Whenever I try to boot up a homebrew-app, it gets black for a couple of seconds, and then gets back to XMB. This happens to all apps EXCEPT Blackb0x FTP.

That is the same error that you get when playing a game that needs a higher firmware. Or when playing homebrew that isn't signed for that firmware version.

I don't see why wiping the hard drive and reinstalling firmware and apps again wouldn't work? Unless you are installing a firmware, that doesn't have peek n poke.

Is there any other problems with the PS3? Bt/wifi ? or anything?

what i don't get is that people advice to try other versions of multiman, while other managers don't work either.

so it can't be a problem with multiman.

did you replaced the drive's ribbon cable?, i know the drive can send games back to xmb if there's a game inside while the laser is bad.

it could be at first that the MM install was corrupt..but it wouldn't go back to XMB without
reporting the "corrupt install" error..and a BARE install is enough to run..but for example if he releases an update..then u cannot skip any update or its corrupted aswell...

like playerkp420, the 800xxx17 error could be from e.g running the DEX version on retail/CEX console = that error/fself.....

if the BD drive would be broke, then installing and running qa_toggle would also fail..correct?! that other guy got it with "blackbox" only..then i thought...the qa_toggle maybe can run..cuse i'm not sure where it writes to = eeprom or such? but again it would fail on installing with bad BD drive

that other guy with the identical problem on kmeaw, another guy fixed it by a "full format"...he failed at it...now a full format for a PS3 HDD can be done many ways to....perhaps he did not fully format the HDD afterall?!

u could try connecting the HDD to the PC and use the tool "HDD low level format" thats a real great tool to fix HDD problem like e.g OtherOS stuff etc.... but u should not do the "quik MBR format" in the tool but the "full way" instead...it depends on the size of the HDD how long this gonna take ofcourse....it's worth a try....else no clue hehe

Have this a shot no joy still same problem. Not annoying at all tried everything I think. But I ain't gonna stop.

I had no multiman success after 4.30 V2.05 upgrade from Kneaw 3.55 through XMB. I couldn't get QA toggle to work so went for it anyway. Had to install new MM downloaded through PS3HAX and everything came back up. Same behaviour with old MM from 3.55 until I deleted and installed new.

I did exactly that with both HDD took them out and gave them a full format with my PC fat32 of course. When people are saying a bluray problem the discs do load fine. But there is a indentation on the main ribbon that go's from the logic board to the drive.image.jpg
I don't know if this can cause a problem at all. It was caught in between the drive and the black plastic screw mount that can bee seen in the back of the photo. Any thoughts on this?
