I don't think he's saying you have to play it from external; rather the sprx has to be copied via external. Could you perhaps PM me or post the link to said thread?

In order to get patch_libfs to work(I don't understand how this can fix the game...)
Copy the files from the data folder of TrueAncestor SELF Resigner to the data folder of the patch_tools_ps1emu_libfs folder, then it'll actually work.

You are right. The original poster updated his tutorial. He forgot to mention the step about TrueAncestor. Here is the updated tutorial.

1. Copy the libfs.sprx from your PS3 and paste it on your usb flash drive, ext hdd or via FTP.

2. Copy and paste the libfs.sprx inside the "patch_tools_ps1emu_libfs" folder which is included in the IRIS MANAGER 4 v1.52 package (Grab the Full package to get these files..)

3. Grab the keys, ldr_curves and vsh_curves from the "TrueAncestor SELF Resigner v1.85" and put them inside the "data" folder located in "patch_tools_ps1emu_libfs" folder.

3. Run the "patch_libfs.bat" inside the "patch_tools_ps1emu_libfs" folder and wait until the "libfs_patched.sprx" is made.

4. Copy "libfs_patched.sprx" and paste it on your usb flash drive or ext hdd.

5. Plug your ext hdd or flash drive on your PS3 and copy and paste the "libfs_patched.sprx" to "/dev_hdd0/game/IMANAGER4/".

6. Open IRIS Manager on your PS3. Choose a game (Ni No Kuni) and press "SELECT" on your PS3 Controller to open the Game Option.

7. Turn ON the BD Emu and play. :D

It looks like this method has failed as well... A user on BCG has checked the supposed fix and he claims he still got a freeze after 45 minutes of gameplay. If anybody else wants to test the Iris Manager fix themselves then go ahead. However, it seems to me that the PSN version is the only option left. That one is working perfectly fine according to users on PS3Repack.

PSN version freezes just like the other, few people on a forum tried it and had the same problem

Are you sure? Which forum? I havent read a single post about PSN version freezing yet. Users on BCG and PS3Repack are playing the PSN version and it is working.

False. Legit disc owners are having the exact same freeze issues. They all seem to think it's a BD drive issue (it's not). If you want proof just google "ni no kuni freeze" and you'll see the abundant gamefaqs threads. the game needs a patch. I've been having the same issues, i've painfully got through 11 hours of this brilliant game. sometimes i'll play 2-3 hours no freeze but when they do start, i cant play more than an hour before it will freeze again. they happen randomly, in overworld, dungeons and towns. They happen alot after battles or just before saving.

I think it's an issue that needs to be addressed by game devs through a patch.

PS: running it internally on rebug 4.30 on a slim.

I wouldnt say abundant. It looks like 2-3 people on gamefaqs complaining.

I agree. Actually, I am one of those people on gamefaqs and I never mentioned that I am on CFW. Dont want to attract hate for being a "pirate". Similarly two other users were also running the game from HDD on CFW. We just do not mention that in front other gamers because then the real issue gets ignored and piracy becomes the main topic. Legit copies are working fine.
