1. dump your nor / nand

2. verify the dump

3. patch the dump as though your downgrading to 3.55 (normal downgrade patches)

4. flash the patched dump to ps3

5. swap the 3.55 update in the fsm files for rogero4.30v2

6. "downgrade" in fsm to rogero4.30v2

7. re-install rogero in recovery & in the xmb to re-fill ros (its emptied during the fsm downgrade)

8. thats it. no de-hash needed

Noob question. I didn't qa as I tried it 20 odd times and didn't get anywhere. I was on 3.55 rebug, then went to 4.21 Rex. Up until now it has never been downgraded. If I were to go back to 3.55 or rogeros cfw would I need to qa?

I don't know why it wouldn't work last time (had no new settings under network) however I already has a debug setting option there already ?!?!

if you downgrade then de-hash.
it resets the syscon to match the f/w you are now on.
if you downgrade to 3.55 then go direct to a ofw below 4.30 then the syscon will panic and you will get 3 beeps flashing red light.

do the QA Flag then check you get the settings by doing the button combo
if you get nothing then re-do the QA flag as you may have had it previously set and forgot about it.

this is getting so confusing

I will keep on with downgrade to rogero 3.55, install kmeaw from recovery with toggle qa and finally from XMB install rogero 4.30v205.

1 - 4 is in the fool proof guide. these parts you do anyway

you then just swap the update in the fsm files for rogero4.30v2
then do the fsm downgrade steps as in the guide.

then re-install rogero twice to restore the ros files instead of QA Flag de-hash.

This is all in my guide. And didn't we talk about this in PM?

When doing METHOD 1 or METHOD 2, in Chapter 2 of my guide, you do not have to dehash.
Now if later you decide to go to 3.55, with one of the downgrader PUPs, you will need to toggle Qa Flag on. While you are on the Hybrid firmware. Otherwise it will not let you install anything.

METHOD 3 of my guide, is actually out dated now. Since Rogero has made this process easier for all of us. Or you would want to METHOD 3 if you were going to put the console on a 3.55 cfw. Or if you wanted to put it on OFW 3.55 to sell the console.

And when you dehash, you need to use an OFW 3.55 or lower, that has not been modified. The way you said with Kmeaw, will actually brick your console, if you were to toggle Qa flag off. Sure if you leave Qa flag toggled on, it won't brick. But that is because the Qa flag is only masking the syscon checks.

METHOD 1 of my guide has got to be the best way, in my opinion.
The best thing is you don't format the HDD, like with FSM install. The customer does not have to spend hours backing up and restoring, with the backup utility.

I just did a CECHK01 on OFW 4.30. All the customer's profiles, PSN games, Pics, etc... are still there.

I thought the full proof guide used the e3_downgrade patch ?

Thats what confused me, should I patch my dump with either rogeros patcher or 3musketeer one, and flash it ( switches all down but last one UP ) ?

cause @playerkp420 guide says all switches down when flashing the patched backup ( with rogero patcher )

if playerkp420 has been spending time goint through this with you and in p/m why did you open a thread?

and with so many ways to do this then no wonder your getting confused.

playerkp420 has spent time telling you to do this on way and i bet he went in equally the same detail as i have only now i would have told you a compleaty different way to playerkp420.

so no offence but stick to players way and next time you open a thread give more info.
ie you should have said what player has been telling you.

if your still unsure what player is telling you then ask him again. ask him in here (now its open) then everyone is on the same page and you dont get contradicting methords.
