I disagree with this just like I did when we put the VIP system up for vote. Anyone that donated to this site before that system became part of the site does not, and will not get a damn thing. I donated to the site before the system was in play and to be honest the reason I don't donate again is because a lot of people that donated never got recognized. I don't need a title to show that I donated, but I hardly see it as far to praise members that have donated before.

IMO the VIP system doesn't mean jack ****. Someone can donate, get a so called "VIP" title, but in the grand scheme of things how does this make them a VIP. VIPs should be people that have helped this community. The VIP system should be based on what a person has done for the site, not based on the fact that they gave money to a site. Someone could give money and not help anyone with a damn thing. I don't see that as being a VIP.

Don't get me wrong. There are some VIP members that deserve the title, and not because they gave money to the site. Very important person? I thought very important people were members that contributed to the community, not a single scene site. I feel as though the time I have spent on here and the hax irc helping people is worth more to the community than throwing $5 into the site.

If anything I agree with the posts about recognizing members that have a great deal of contribution. These are the people that deserve to be recognized, not the people that give a site money for a nice new title instead of contributing to helping people.

No offense @Annelies but it really looks like you would consider donating if your idea came to existence. VIP membership with the current system is enough of a reward. If you are going to reward anyone, reward the people that have poured blood, sweat, and tears into this site, the IRC, and to the community (metaphorically speaking)

Honestly, no BS, one of the main reasons I even donated in the past was just for the VIP title because I did not want my name looking like everybody else. Pure black, no custom title, no picture, etc... You know I just like to stand out. I do it with Photoshop all the time for example. Donating got me the purple name which is a plus, gold freakin' bars, and a purple VIP logo under my name. It was boss. Too bad he took it away.

I want to stand out and I think we should have more options for that thats why I want the currency system in place or something that allows me to be different from everyone else. Maybe I care too much about customization.

Good articles... I wouldn't say the best. You are still young, and even though you have a passion for writing, you have a lot to learn.

This is what I have called you out on many times before. Once again you have stated you clearly don't care. Why keep coming around a ps3 scene site if you do not care about things PS3 related? My activity has dropped, and it has nothing to do with the ps3 community, but more with the fact that there are several immature, illiterate, trolling, and generally just plain stupid people that sign up. These people don't give a damn about the community or progress as long as everything is going their way. These people have drove me away from the site, but unlike you, I do still care about this community (sadly). I understand you may have met some people in which you use this venue as a way to continue to communicate with these people, but there are other means to communicate with people you have met through your little ride here. Like you and I for instance. We met here, but that doesn't mean I have to use the site to keep in contact. If you don't care, then why care about how the site is run, and why keep making suggestions if you don't care as you said in your own words?

I like you, but I also don't hold my tongue. You should know that by now. Donate because you want to help the site. Think about everything you have gained from your time as a member/staff member here. That should be reward enough. The donation system doesn't need to be changed.

You say you don't care, but some part of you does if you are considering donating.

What makes you feel like you deserve to stand out? OK, so donating members deserve some type of reward, but if you feel a need to stand out then you seriously need to put your ego in check. I have been here for years, spent countless hours on here and our IRC as contributed some time as a staff member trying most of the time to help the staff. I feel no need to stand out. I am a regular member just like many other regular members. Honestly you have no reason to stand out here. You are also a regular member. If you wanted to stand out and feel important then you should have kept your staff position.

Homebrew developers, active staff, and the members that have contributed a great deal to the community are the people that deserve to stand out.

We are regular members and have no reason to want to look more important than any other regular member unless deemed so by the community which is why I agree with what Greg had proposed. Honestly you thinking you are more important, or even the fact you think you need to stand out makes me lose a little respect for you. It isn't about standing out, it is about learning new things, meeting new people, and giving help as well as receiving help without any thought of reward. You claim you are a good person, and you want to continue to be a good person.... well think about doing some good without any thought of reward. Honestly the people I have met here, my time as staff here, and the knowledge I have gained while I have been an active member here are more than enough of a reward. I know I stand out a little and I don't have to have a fancy title. My time and contributions have made me stand out.

Obviously you and @GregoryRasputin also care about the way your profiles are portrayed and have clearly utilized what little customization options you've been given. @BobbyBlunt , your DBZ avatar for years has distinguished you from the rest of the crowd and @GregoryRasputin 's Soviet Union flag is iconic. If you guys don't care about standing out, then why not remove your profile pictures and have nothing like me? You guys obviously care to an extend otherwise you would have boring, bland profiles.

There is no difference in rocking a professionally made signature and having a colored username, custom title or photo under your avatar and we already allow people to use signatures so why not go the extra mile?

It's not like I'm asking for special treatment because EVERY member of the Hax Network would have the same privileges. So I don't know why you lost respect for me but there's nothing I can do about that now.

And yes I have contributed to this website and have not asked for anything in return. Hell, I will even go as far to say that I have gotten NOTHING in return. Most of the things I've done were giveaways and for a short time I was making everybody signatures.

So the real reason behind your donation was what?? I'm not being pedantic by the way, but you wear the vip status with pride in my opinion, and am wondering what the donation was for! i.e Because you felt the site were in need of cash or you were sick of ads? I have a coloured username because im staff, staff are supposed to stick out, perhaps if you wanted to be special needs, you should have kept your staff position, that way you would have had your crappy notice ability....

You have control over your profile, you can:
Add a Profile Pic
Add an Avatar
Add a sig

Now if that isn't good enough for you, you can always GTFO and not return like you've said so many times you would do, because all you are doing on this forum is trolling.
