Some FBA games are starting in service mode/diagnostic menu, and I cannot find an option to change the dip switches :/
Edit: CPS 1/2 games are working fine, only the old "jamma" and Taito arcade games are affected (i.e 1942, black tiger, darius). Edit2: @CaptainCPS-X : There is a problem with the pkg. The snes9x_next core is the prboom self renamed. Edit3: The OP package has the same problem. There is no snes9x_next, just a renamed prboom. I isolated the cores to confirm: snes9x_next.SELF launch the prboom core. The CORE.SELF also seems to be the same file.

Apparently it's the same snes9x core from the beta3 unofficial release. I do not understand why he renamed the snes9x_next.SELF to core.self instead of replacing the existing one.
I will take the liberty of replacing the snes9x core and repack Retroarch 0.9.8 later =]

I Replaced the snes9x_next.SELF with the same b3 release and repacked. No problems so far. The pkg STL provided also works fine. Different ways of thinking, same results

I compiled the Snes core last night using the latest commits from the Snes9x-Next and Retroarch git hub repos. Oh and you got it the wrong way round. Core.self has to be renamed. @Adamsville - 100% correct mate

Worked fine here. What exactly is the difference between renaming the core and replace the snes9x core itself? The old core.self is the prboom core. Sorry for the questions (and for the usual broken english), but I like to understand the logic behind these emulators.

When compiling retroarch, it names the core as core.self. I then have to manually rename each core to the proper name before compiling the next. The last one compiled is left as CORE.SELF As all that was needed was the Snes core, That's all I compiled
