i feel your pain on this one too, i did it to an xbox 360 once. worked great just dead dvd drive, i tried to go inside to clean it out and re-paste the processors, and bam the screw driver slipped out of my hand and nailed the board.

its not easy to fix a trace, i spent many hours trying.

Thank you for your feels. I have been looking online and it seems like it is possible at least. You guys have given me a lot of hope. Now, just waiting for that special someone to come along and take on the task (at hopefully a low cost).
