not so confusion but for some it may...the new way should be posted seperate and with common sense..just use whatever fits best to ya i'm sticking with <355 and proper dehash....cuse it is done but personally don't give a *** about formatting at this point..comes with it...agreed some can't live without....and can be backed up ofcourse before doing the downgrade...i guess when doing a service the "new way" is alot faster etc...and its good news for the 3.56/metldr1 ones..cuse there it is the only way..else stick with the default way....proven to work perfectly..the other one works fine....maybe we see some brick reports later on..then again this is not the downgraders fault..ofcourse he must do it properly...have fun

Yes, I got confused. It was another member that asked this same question.

But the point is you are getting confused, because you are following more than one guide.

My guide says to flash with all switches down, because that is how you flash a patched backup.
1-5 down and 6 up, is one key downgrade with e3_downgrade.bin.

There are so many different options, you do not have to jumble them together. Pick one that works for you, and you are comfortable, then stick with it.

If you read the wiki, it has different methods. If I was going to follow this guide, I would not think to do all of them. But just one.

Yeah my problem now is to understand the difference between Rogero patcher and 3 musketeers people say patch a dump, but when do we know how and which patcher to use? Thats my last question and I will be happy

no. dont be lazy dude. dehash... never skip steps. they exist for a reason even if you arent sure why..... just be safe and do it exactly lol. or you will be posting for help shortly i can promise you lol

Three musketeers patcher = No dongle needed, does not format hard drive. Use only on OFW 4.30 or lower. (for now)

Rogero Nor Dump Patcher v0.1 = Dongle needed. Use for FSM install of either Rogero 4.30 v2.05 or Rogero 3.55. Formats hdd, make sure to use backup utility and sync trophies if you want to save your stuff.

I just did a cech-2001b, today. It used to be on 3.55, then was updated to OFW.
I used Three Musketeers patcher, and installed Rogero 4.30. All of his PS3 games were still there after. Even trophies, saves, game data, pics, PSN games, homebrew apps, etc...
So it took like 10 minutes, instead of hours to backup and restore everything.

And it is not skipping steps. Rogero has worked hard to make things easier, for us. And even easier things will come in the future.

The point is, dehashing is only needed if you downgrade from 3.56 or higher to 3.55.
Everyone is like "ohh, but they say to always have Qa flag" But the truth is you only need it toggled on for easy downgrade back to 3.55.
But if you understand this,then if you ever decide to go back to 3.55, you can just toggle Qa flag on the hybrid downgrade firmware.

No need to dehash as long as you use a CFW that has the lvl patched for downgrade brick. Rogero CFW 4.30 and Rebug CFW 4.30 has this patch.

so it looks to be the same as "previous" old 355 method?! and for example the khalkedeon youtube guide, as long u not change firmwares = stay on a firmware that has LV1 checks removed it is safe! now for example a guy goes back using a "downgrader pup" for whatever reason u need to be on 3.55 at any time later on...the QA FLAG comes arround the corner again...i keep at it...dutch are hard headed..that QA flag/dehashing is always important after a hardware flash

Ill do things like this now:

4.31 -> 3.55 + Toggle QA -> Dehash ( 3.55 over recovery ) -> Rogero 4.30 vXXX install from XMB

4.30 or lower -> Patch with 3musketeers -> rogero from recovery -> reinstall systemfiles from recovery.


This are my ways of flashing now.
