if this is so then i'm shocked too, i know those little capacitors are placed at every chip to filter unwanted noise in the powerline, but maybe because all operates at such a high speed, every capacitor is important?

*SHOCKED*

You replace that cap AND IT WORKED. F-me sideways.

You, my friend, ARE A VERY LUCKY BOY INDEED.

Now, I am thinking that in soldering that capacitor back on the board you've inadvertently repaired something else.

Very, very interesting thread.

I don't get how a capacitor can fix a bad dump & a forced brick.
these dumps are that bad that it shouldn't have booted

You're in the same camp as me!
these dumps are that bad that it shouldn't have booted
Up until post #81, that was exactly what I was thinking along with the words "PERMA-BRICK"...

... and then bosh! The fella gets it working! Seriously, WTF?

But this capacitor repair cannot get around the fact that surely this was missing when the original dump was made and that dump was shown to be 'bad'? And then a 'forced brick' dump back into his flash surely = BRICK?

I think I'm missing something here.

Or may be this capacitor is the reason of giving bad dumps. i don't know
but i would like him to report back if he dumped again after he fixed the capacitor or what?

also the other day you said you downgraded 50 ps3s now are 100
i think you have done about 5 - 10 right now
