Indeed, many of the pins on a NAND flash are not needed (those NC pins in the above image = Not Connected, i.e. not used).

This bloody thing worked fine for flash 0 after some tinkering and clamping. Now off to flash 1. What? You want to be a little b1tch and mock me by detecting the NAND but freezing at dumping block 0? Arghhhhh
WinSkeet is freezing? This program would do this for me if using its DUAL NAND option. I therefore had to do 1 NAND chip at a time using NAND1 (and unticking NAND2).

So I'd start WinSkeet40000 (v111205)
Common Tab: Presets, select: Dual NAND Samsung K9F1G08ULA/B-PIB0
NAND Tab: Untick NAND2
Ensure 'Raw' is ticked.
Click 'Auto' button to see if Flash device selected ok.
Then 'Dump...'

That way WinSkeet never froze. If all dumped blocks dumped WITHOUT error for both NANDs, then combine and send off for verification.

Andy

PS - you probably know all that, but just making sure!

I have been unchecking NAND 2. In fact I made a new preset with it unselected. I was able to dump flash 0. Now I get this problem when trying to do either of them.

It's a connection issue

Put a little pressure sideways click auto if not working try from otherside
What progskeet you using??

Failing that and clamp not working your going to have to send to someone to do it by removing nands

Cough: I do them

Same problem I get when trying to use that clip.

I always get one nand easy, and the other is a pain.

I think I need to modify the clip more. Like in the pics in baileyscream's guide.

Also do this:
[QUOTE=Dark_hades;467957]
The biggest pain by far of the whole process was getting that solderless clip on correctly for WinSkeet to recognise it. I would add that gently scrubbing the pins with some cleaning Alcohol on a clean toothbrush (on the solderless clip and NAND chips) can help in making sure it's won't fail due to the pins being dirty (as that was the case with my solderless clip).
