Controller Issues
I'm extremely new to jailbreaking and whatnot. I've managed to gather the requisite files for jailbreaking to Rogero's cfw3.55 v3.7a, and managed to figure out the steps to take and what order to take them in. None of that is a problem. What is though, is that my controller (although recognized easily and painlessly in xmb, and normal operation) Isn't being picked up by the ps3 in safe mode. I've been all over google, this site, and a couple others trying to figure this out. Everything I've found tells me to reset the controller. I've done that in as many combinations of ways I can think of. Still nothing. And until that happens, I can't downgrade to ofw 3.55. Any help would be appreciated.

on the back of your PS3 controller is a pin hole, that resets the controller from remembering which PS3 its paired to.
Also: have you connected the pad with a usb cable and hit the PS button? *moved to help section*

I don't see why you have to reset your controller.
Plugging it in via USB should work regardless.... ![]() Is it a knock off controller?

Nosir. It's the sony brand sixaxis one that came with the ps3. It just isn't being picked up when booting in safe mode. Works fine other than that though. Any attempt to boot to safe mode results in me just sitting at the "Connect controller through usb....." text. And thank you in advance for the help lol

So in "safe mode", you have connected the controller with a USB cable and hit the PS button, but it stuck there?
EDIT: going back, lets get some info on this: You said you have Rogero 3.55 v3.7 files, did you downgrade your PS3 to OFW 3.55? was your PS3 already on 3.55 when you started this process? have you flashed Rogero 3.55 v3.7? What model is your PS3? I'm confused where you are at.

I'm at the absolute beginning of the process. I'm trying to downgrade to the ofw 3.55 by booting in safe mode and updating from the USB drive. I'm starting from (according to the system info) ofw 4.31. It's a 160gb slim ps3, forgetful of how old it is. Model # CHECH-3001A. I haven't really started anything as of yet. And yes. In safe mode I have connected the controller with the USB cable, and it's stuck there.
************* [ - Post Merged - ] ************* Damn. I should've read some more. Didn't realize I needed a hardware flasher. Silly me. And apparently my model can't be downgraded. Unfortunate. Last edited by GrizzlyAdums; 01-28-2013 at 03:46 AM. |
