PS3 HDMI to DVI - Green Dots appearing on screen

Hi,

Monitor : Samsung SA300 - DVI,VGA ( NO HDMI )
Resolution : 1366 x 768 ( Obviously 720p will work )

So, I am using HDMI to DVI cable, everything works fine but when I change the output from 576p to 720p, green dots appear. Tried another cable, same result

Tried on my xbox, works perfectly

If your PS3 outputs the same on a TV then its either the PS3 HDMI port is knackered or the GPU is over heating and artifacting...

If not then IDK.

Shot in the dark here, but have you checked the colour mode, i.e. RGB/YPBPR?

I tried resetting the monitor settings, still the same.

this link might help you understand:

http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/31...ifacts-adaptor

basically nothing wrong with your ps3 mate which is good news it is how your ps3 and your monitor is designed fraid nothing you can do except try a different setup for example component cable to vga/dvi adaptor or just buying a a different monitor or trying to play with the settings on your current one...

and Mistawes is right that is the setting to toy with but generally if it was wrong the screen would be very distorted and you would def notice...
