Hi,

I was trying to start Mass Effect 1 from VITMO's release, witch is the first disk.
I'm on Rebug 4.21, so I edited the Param.sfo from 4.25 to 4.21 and ran the EBOOT true "True ancestor's eboot patcher".
The game boots fine and installs the gamedata without any problem, but then I get an error saying "Disk read error".
Usually that means a bad rip, so if anyone could confirm they have the same problem, it would be much appriciated and I"ll know I'll have to wait for an other release.

Either rip the game from disc yourself, or if you insist on piracy get it from a real release group. Also you didnt need to fix the eboot. Enable Rebug mode and it should have worked fine. MultiMan will correct the param.sfo for you, and I may be mistaken but I also believe it fixes eboots now too. The last time I checked True Ancestor was used to make eboots compatible with DEX consoles but I could be mistaken.

Admitting you downloaded a game here will sometimes get you trolled upon epicly. I don't care how you got your game but with some of this crowd it is wise to keep the fact that you downloaded it to yourself.

Ok thanks for the advice. I do own a ton of legit games, but i also wear the ocasional eye-patch. I have Pc version of ME 1 but my desktop can't handle it.

Not working for me either on 3.55 kmeaw, fixed my eboot and tried with every option + disc inside, but same thing happens like you have. Disc read error. On a torrent site there also two guys said the same. So it's bad release most likely..

Just to confirm, I got the same "Disk read error". Yeah, looks like a bad rip, indeed.
Good to know that I wasn't the only one getting that error.

If you're using VIMTO's release you'll need to get another one (duplex).
This one was a bad rip.

also ev1l51xty51x, i dont know if you read my post, have problem with mass effect 3 freezing before mission like cerberus lab and tuchanka (can select squad and loadout then freezes in shuttle loading screen) i dont know if your familiar with this as well sorry

DUPLEX is the name of a group that releases games. Duplex is one of the most thrusted ones.
So just google : "Mass Effect Proper DUPLEX" and you'll find it. And this one works flawlessly.
