You're right. You put it in, then out the hole. But here's the mistake you made. You put the key inside the door right? And you turned the key ( used the key and it worked) So what would happen if the hole you put the key inside wasn't the real lock? But a thing to record what was used. So to find the 4.31 firmware key wouldn't we just need some to catch the key once it get's signed? Like if we had some kind of program that would read everything Sony's updating is doing shouldn't it catch the key? Perhaps, this would only work on ps3's below 4x.xx maybe.

i still stand by my we need to find out exactly where the exchange happens and get in between the process. wire in a controller board set to copy the raw data during the exchanges for example
************* [ - Post Merged - ] ************* arent the private keys only required for psn and games? meaning with the available keys i know we cant get cfw. backups. but with the lvl2 and netldr keys n whatnot out there couldnt we get homebrew atleast? ************* [ - Post Merged - ] ************* i can live without multiman and iso files. i keep a cpl ps3 ofw anyways. i just want my homebrew back |

Dude, the key HAS to be inside the firmware. If it wasn't then why can't we hack a ps3 phat with 4.31? This means the key signed it didn't it? So therefore the key can't be hidden. Think of it this way, you open a lock using a key. Then you put the key away right? But where you put the key isn't in the open now is it? ( unless you're retarded) So the key would be hidden from others. So this means the key might be hidden inside the ps3 firmware but with different name to try and act like it's not.

Does anyone here SIGN eboot with the 4.xx keys?
Cause if you do then from what all you knuckle heads are saying is that there is a key imprint on eboots RE-SIGNED. I want you all to think about that and how silly it sounds. Pretty daft huh ![]() Sony SIGNS the firmware using new private key, SIGNS it meaning they use that key to unlock it and and tell it that its OK to run it on said console. Then the key is locked away, what makea you think that there is a ghost image of there random private key generator on all the 3.56 - 4.xx ofw? You don't see key residue from resigning your eboots, cause its just that. Used to be able to sign something, no need to leave the key ontop the doormate, when the rock in your rockpile will hide it better. Better yet, think of it as a program unlocker code on PC. You input it once to use that program or game and never hear word of it again. Sony probably has one of it's top programmers sign new pup on his equipment, like we do with our eboots only in a more sophisticated way, then places on net. The key, I believe, is neither on console nor pup. 3-4k model owners are living in a shroom enduced dream world.

they key is generated and passed off at the exact point of exchange. its gone instantly and you are correct its not in either the firmware or the pup. somehow when the game/app runs it generates the key it seems to authenticate. then vanished. only valid idea i can think of for doing it with said ps3 is to figure out if its the logic board. mobo. or where exactly it is this exchange happens. then install a usb controller board or some kinda flash device that records the raw data transfer... maybe then you can see or find the key in the huge jumble it uncovers. maybe. or develop the pc ps3 emulator so it can run an xmb not just a demo or tiny elf. then update to 4.31 ofw on the pc. boot a demo or game that needs 4.31. and watch the exchange in the elf diagnostic box or use some sorta sniffer to get inbetween the exchange with software instead
************* [ - Post Merged - ] ************* im working on the pc emulator but its a slow going process and the damn thing is so unstable. im also thinking im gonna need an emulated nand. anyone got a dump of a 3.55 console nand? |

Omg, listen for the last time, the private keys are not in the ps3 nor are they in a firmware pup, the only place the private keys are in Sony's office, don't you people know what private means!!! . We got he public keys cos they are public and anybody can get them, if u know where to look . And the private keys are private because they are not public . Private keys are called private for a reason. e.g. Ive got a private secret that only I know about and I don't want anybody to know. I wwouldn't write it in a box so anybody could find it and read it.

@carldenning
none of these people in here are guna listen bro >_< there all stuck on pipe dreams and false hopes. They refuse to listen to the fact that there OFW 3.56-4.xx will never be jailbroken without a flasher. Its a lost cause mate, these threads are getting annoying just like the ones about the jailbreaking the 3-4k models. >_< some people just love to live in denile man, and like my father always told me. De-nile is a river in egypt, so why stay so far away from the truth.
