0V would mean that the syscon would be reset, can the light blink then? ![]() if i'm correct, it would also mean that you have no power on point 8 (other side of the board) not at home right now, so i can't verify this. so if you can verify point 4 and 8 again, i will post back when i get home where we stand. ![]() EDIT: @Guaguasi , i messed up somehow, i switched point 3 and 4 in the picture (changed that now) you suppose to measure nothing at point 4, power fail, the 12V is not on yet (standby mode) so that explains. but this also means i'm totally lost since almost all points seem to be ok. ![]() i have no idea why the red light would blink Last edited by Mr.Dutch; 01-30-2013 at 11:26 AM. |

I'm relatively certain that it was 4, but I'm going to recheck 3 as well when I get home from work. I know it was a semiconductor that gave me 0, but I'm drawing a blank because I checked everything a couple times. I'll try to take a picture of what I'm doing.
Thanks for all the help

Yep, that's exactly it. I'd be interested to see what he gets if he were to check the points on the diagram.

Well, I checked all the points again and everything seems to have checked out.
Would the CR2032-LC1 battery play any part? I'd think that's just a cmos battery for saving date/time and what not.I noticed something else, which may or may not have anything to do with anything because I would assume the system would at least go into standby mode. When I was removing the heatsink shield, something stayed on or came off one of the chips in the process... part of the heatsink assembly. I was as gentle as could be, promise. The four corners have a hardened glue(?) on them. Not sure if it matters, but the power button doesn't beep or anything when I press/touch it, as opposed to the 3 beeps the eject button makes. It cuts the circuit so I am guessing it is fine. |

so dead battery or not, it would not have any effect. in standby the cell and rsx are not even powered, so power fails from those ic's will be ignored until you start the system. |

Such a short response doesn't sound promising. lol. Are we at the end of our rope? I found the service manual for my model (sm-ps3-0073e-05), which is what I assume you are looking at, hoping it would be a little helpful, but that is clearly made for super professionals.

@Guaguasi
, too bad the other guy is not replying, he's having the same problems remember...
btw, did you tried to remove the power/eject board, plus ribbon cable and trying to start the ps3 by pushing a disc in? i looked again at those schematics and ran out of ideas for now ![]() EDIT: you don't have another psu do you? , or a stable 5V source to rule out problems caused by the psu. |

No, I have not. I switched it on, saw the light and heard the beeps, did some googling to no avail, and came here. I'll have to put the PS3 back together to give that a shot, but that's going to mean repasting. Everything's cool with the processors from those pics I attached and all I need to do is repaste, right?

I had the same problem on CECHL (NOR) console and I've tried everything (PSU, BD DRIVE, HDD,REFLOW, FLASH) then I replaced the SYSCON the ps3 turns on normally but did not work properly (a serious system error code 8002f2f0) I tried NOR flash patch to downgrade but it did not work, because if you're wrong SYSCON console will not work.
