OK, when fully wired will test it. Have variable current limited power supplies which also monitor output current. Can't see anywhere in the datasheet where a NOR takes more than 55mA, but then again datasheets, easy to miss the obvious sometimes.

the funny things is that the datasheet from the nand says 50mA max.
2 two nands would be 100mA at max

Interesting, I just have a problem with the write NOR (NOR PS3 - S29GL128P90FFIR10), but these values appear Datasheet:

Current Consumption (typical values)
Random Access Read (f = 5 MHz) 30 mA
8-Word Page Read (f = 10 MHz) 1 mA
Program/Erase 50 mA
Standby 1 μA

Ok ok ok this is documented in ps3 dev wiki

Maybe its because the ps3 drains 3.3 aswell
But I know for fact if you wire your progskeet to ps3 and wire your progskeet 3.3 to the nor you cannot get a dump that's valid but power from console and you can

am i correct that if you use progskeet that the progskeet provides the power for the nand?

but not only the nand will be powered, also a part of the southbridge, the starship2 ic, usb controller ic, and more.

Yes but if you use progskeet to power nor it don't work the ps3 must drain more with a nor ic

I have the ability to program NAND and NOR chips in isolation (i.e. not mounted on the PS3 motherboard). Will see what current they take then...

Andy

PS this assumes my Phoenix PCB can actually read / write NOR as I have yet to test this!

If you could test please even tho on my new design I can add an external source but to know for sure would be a bonus

Have you done the 60pin skeet as I'd like to order them?? But thinking now your prob waiting on the 1.1

Probably test on Friday when I have some time.

I did update my reverse engineered version of the ProgSkeet v1.1 PCB to include optional 60way header and made the connection pads through-hole too. Have not thoroughly tidied it up yet though.
