some games are copy protected, so you have to use a patch/crack to use iso or a burnt disc. some good info you can find here:

this site also contains all needed patches.

the problem with some patches is, codebreaker will not work after patching, as the region gets changed and some info in the main executable.

right now i am trying to re-rip vagrant story pal, to try if i can remove pal protection completely this way and be able to use codebreaker on pal version iso.

somehow it is very hard and time consuming as i have to use that old sony cdgenerator on a virtual machine. another problem is, the games contain too much files and i have to put them one by one in the image because of the lba. not very funny i have to say, but if it works, it was worth it. i am almost done with vagrant story pal german (id sles-02756).

another reason i am doing this for the pal version is, it looks a bit better in pal the game, as i also could play us version. would be nice if there was a force pal-ntsc option in irismanager. only changing the video options in iris does not work for me.

Just launched Chrono Cross with the Psx_emu patcher and running the game finally in ISO ^_^ no more need to search for my physical disc, it can stay safe wherever its hidden ^_^

its working perfect on mine bro, just went in and out of menu like 10 times in a row real quick and no lock up :-/

I entered the menu and pressed x so the serge icon became highlighted then I pressed x again and that is when it locked up. I was also on 4.31 using the 4.30 patched emu 2 self, maybe that had something to do with it.

What firmware are you on?

I think it's mentioned that you shouldn't be on CFW 4.31.

IMPORTANT: 4.31 ps1_emu not be used. Using 4.30 or less. I have to look at how viable is doing via syscall emulation (the biggest problem, to house the code, which is a lot and used to all versions)

@butnut are you using iris 1.55? It has another patch for the psx emu...you should install it if you haven't already.

@TitaniumL I thought he was saying not to use the 4.31 self, but maybe you are right and he was saying not to use the emu at all on 4.31?

@Theeze I am using 1.55, and I installed the new patch too. I will DG to 4.30 and try again.

I confirm that does not work on 4.31 (a friend of mine tested and confirmed righ now via msn)

I am on rogero 4.30 now and the game still locks up after I press triangle and then x twice.

I have to press x twice before the game locks, just entering the menu causes no problem.

Will someone please do the same and see if the game locks up?

You are right, the game crashes (black screen) after pressing triangle then X

Edit: Im using Rogero 4.30 v2.05 with the SLUS_010.41 game version.

Pressing the PS button works, I can go back to XMB after the game crashes.
