As stated, I followed Playerkp420's very helpful tutorial, and everything went smoothly up until after going into FSM. The backups were successful, checked, and the flash went smoothly. The FSM I'm not so sure. I flipped the back of my CECHL to on (after switching off at the connect controller screen), then pressed power then eject with my psp jig plugged in. The console then shut off.

I then put lv2diag.self and ps3updat.pup (rogero 4.30) onto a flash drive and replaced the psp with it, then turned it on again. The ps3 then shuts off after 5 seconds. Not an abrupt power off mind you, it shuts the usb off first, then e3 flasher, then the ps3 turns red.

I made a mistake though. When I put the lv2diag and ps3updat, I left a folder PS3/UPDATE/PS3updat.pup, with the same rogero 4.30 cfw. Did this cause the problem?

I don't know what to do from here, so I will leave the console untouched until I get some feed back. Thank you guys

Edit: I also want to note I don't have the bluray drive plugged in.

Hi,

You got to connect your E3 Flasher with the Nor tristate. So solder a wire from Nor Tristate on motherboard to the orange wire SBE.



PS: Only use this image to check where the Nor tristate is, do not cut anything like written

Once it is done, put all key down on E3 Flasher but first key up. So you only put up the 'Flash Fun Mode'. Now turn on the PS3, it shouldn't do anything but if you succeeded, the console is gonna stay on. Since the PS3 stay on, you're able to flash back your dump bkpps3.bin. That should unbrick it and let you follow the tutorial again.

PS: Make sure you use Rogero 3.55 V3.7A firmware for downgrade and the JaicraB's Patched LV2Diag.self to downgrade

Just had the same thing happen. Literally. Try putting the FSM files on a different USB stick. Seems to be working fine now on my end.

You should keep your opinions to your self. No one is making you follow anything.

But to call my guide stupid/???? is just disrespectful.

When I first wrote that guide, the information was not on the wiki page.
And METHOD 1 in Chapter 2 of my guide, is still not on the wiki page.

The guide was not the problem here anyway. If you read the posts in this thread, the cause was a picky usb drive.

The console was never bricked. The PS3 will shut off by itself at that step, if it does not find the Lv2diag.self to know what function to call.

The guide also has a lot of references to the ps3devwiki. Because it is a great site and has a lot of information. But if someone wants to follow a guide, that will help them step by step and has someone to answer their questions about what they don't understand, who are you to say that they shouldn't.

Thanks for letting me know! It souned like a brick lol and I didn't know the PS3 would shut off only for a Lvl2Diag.self missing In what I remember, it would just turn on and ask me to plug the controller, like in a recovery mode
