Does this mod exist? I just paid $100 for this service got home turned on my ps3, first thing i checked was the system info and it still said i was on version 4.31. Could not find Install Package Folder or any apps_games folder in the XMB anywhere! I have searched the forums and tried various methods of puting the .pkg files on my usb and nothing shows up.

You paid $100 for the service? Did you get a Cobra dongle with it?
Because I think Cobra CFW acts like OFW, if you don't have the dongle in.

I brought my ps3 to this guy in my area and he asked me what firmware i was running and i said OFW 4.31 and he said that he could do the "usb cobra flash" which i have never heard of to run CFW 4.31 he was originally asking $120 which i thought was pretty ridiculous and when i got my ps3 back after 1 hour he did not include the usb cobra dongle. He had me under the assumption he was flashing my ps3 with it??? when i started questioning him about where is the install package folder and if he could point me in the right direction he said "i dont know i only do the mods dont provide tutorials, it can be seen as circumventing."

Well, lets hope he assumed you had a Cobra dongle and installed that CFW.

Did he install any apps? mmCM maybe?

Try and enter the recovery menu and choose option 6. Install 4.25 to 3.55 downgrader PUP. http://www.mediafire.com/?6d8f6fi0hoiy86j
If that does not install, and gives an error or says No Applicable Data. Then you got robbed.

there were no apps installed as far as i can tell and he is completely unresponsive at this point their website is leet-mods i actually got my xbox modded from them 2 years ago and never had any problem which is why i came back to get my ps3 modded, so as far as i can tell there are no apps installed and i have no usb dongle? should i go ahead and try this update?

As playerkp420 replied he probably downgraded your console and installed cobra cfw has your Ps3 been opened if so try what playerkp420 said
