Hi

Any help would be massively appreciated

I have just bought a ps3 which when loaded gives me 4.25 demonstration mode , the guy i bought from told me it was ready to play copies.

I have install pkg files but its not letting me install any from usb stick I just get errors.

What I need to know is how do I either get it to play copies or if this isnt possible how do i restore it back to original sony firmware

Any help would be great

you will have to downgrade it with a FLASHER if that is even APPLICABLE with your MODEL of PLAYSTATION.

Nope.

You need a hardware flasher (NAND or NOR depending on your model PS3) and a FSM dongle... thats IF your PS3 is a flashable model.

EDIT: At first I thought perhaps an early Rogero 4.xx CFW... but now I think you have been conned. Talk to the person who sold it to you and see what they say.

Kiosk reverters will not help you either, you will still need a flasher to downgrade to 3.55 OFW.. if its do able on your PS3.

So theres no way either of reverting it back to original firmware

At the minute im just doing the sequence over security settings and putting 4801 password in to get it to give me most features back

Nope.

If you use the firmware reverters in @tjhooker73 s sig, you could get back to OFW 4.30.

Found the 4.25 link mid way down the post cheers

Are these done by using the reovery menu with holding the power button 3 beeps etc ?
