But if you got a non valid dump, because the clip was not on good. Then you seated the clip proper or soldered the linker and flashed the non valid dump. It would flash over all the info you did not get the first time. So you would have no hope.

So if you follow the OP. And can not get a dump with the important info. Your PS3 in non recoverable.
So the chance of un-bricking is 50-50.

and nice tutorial buddy.

Sounds like more trouble than simply soldering one wire to 2 points. LOL.

Depends on how you bricked. If you bricked from installing a bad PUP file, this will work everytime.
But if you bricked while flashing a bad dump, you might be screwed. Unless the clip was not on good. In that case you may have a good chance to get a good connection with the clip, (or to be sure solder the e3 linker) and get a dump.
It is like there is 56 pins. Each extracting data. If only 42 pins extracted data, then you tried to flash back and those same 42 pins will be flashing data back. So the data the other 14 pins should be flashing, are still not touching so they will not flash over that data.
If that is the case you get all 56 pins touching, and extract all the data. The data should still be there unless, you get a good connection and then flash over it with a bad dump.

That is just an example, not sure if its 56 pins.

It isn't more trouble, It's easier and faster if you don't want to solder. You do the same thing, but instead of soldering, you power the PS3 while either taping the wire (which is what I used to do) or holding the wire, power on, if stays on, remove the wire and screw the two plates to keep it from shutting down. Takes around 3 minutes to do it :P. Try it and you'll thank me

this is stupid.

dump your corrupt flash.
if trvk/coreos os corrupt -> patch it.
flash it back.

every other cause of bricking = not fixable with this guide.
title says unbrick without valid back up = people assume you can fix everything.

over strung guide when you can JUST GO ON THE WIKI.

What is up with you.

I know the title can be misleading, but if you have bricked and don't have a valid backup where do you start?
I even start the post out by saying "The truth is you cannot unbrick without a valid bios backup. So what you have to do is get one."

The post is filled with wiki references. But what if someone doesn't understand the technical explanation of stuff on the wiki? Can you show me where I can ask my noob questions on the wiki? You can't just post a question. Your expected to just figure it out.

Well, as many users here know I like to help those people. I think we should all use the wiki. But you know what, we should have a community where we can share our problems and fixes with each other, also.

I made this guide, because I had users asking me how to fix their brick. But they had no valid backup. I would link them to the wiki page, and they would message me back saying their PS3 was permabricked because they did not have a valid backup. And even had users on irc telling them their console was a doorstop. When that was not the case. And I was able to help them fix their PS3.
I have fixed many PS3s, that was thought to have been flashed with a bad dump. If the clip was not secure when you dumped the info, and you flash it back with the clip in the same position. That info that was not read, did not get written over. So after reseating the clip securely and getting all the info, patching it, and flashing it back will work.

And what about all the bricks that are from a corrupt coreos. How about all the Wanikoko bricks, 3.56 bug, Rogero 4.21 v1 bricks, etc... What if someone has an e3 flasher and is searching how to fix it.

This gives users somewhere to start. And when they don't understand what was written, they can ask questions, and get answers.

Sure the guide may seem "OVER STRUNG", but it was meant to be dumbed down for the noob bricker.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the wiki updated by users that get information from forums?
Because there is a lot of information that I have seen on forums before it was on the wiki.

Like the E3 Fast Dual Boot- OFW 4.xx and CFW 4.xx. Was figured out first on this site here. Then posted by one of those users later on the wiki.

So get off the wiki only kick. And keep out of my guides. Thanks.

Huh, I truely didn't read anything. Simple fact of the matter is, keep it short and simple. Dont overload people with useless information or misleading information.

If this never happened, we wouldnt have so many people killing their ps3s in the first place.
