surely the PS3 needs a homebrew app of this kind?

I know what you mean for XBOX i had it also. I think the PS3 works different & needs the PS3 to do some work in activating/Unlocking the DLC so unless the creator of reactPSN can replicate what the PS3 does while activating my guess it cant be done . Only way is to fix the game files like PropJoe , a tool to do it for you , that would be something just like the XboX DLC unlocker even better for PS3..

Tools can defiantly be created for that i am sure ,but seems people do not want to share much how things are done in this department. It is good in a way Sony cant stop it ..

I wasn't sure if the act.dat file made a difference as I copied it to my main user account when I was unsuccessfully attempting to get reActPSN working on Rogero 4.30 v2.05

I've since formatted and reset factory settings on that PS3 and tried again (I'm still on Rebug 4.30.1), this time not moving the act.dat file which reActPSN creates. So my main user account doesn't have any act.dat file, there is not even an exdata folder there. The game runs after reActPSN is used with the required .rap file and all files are setup on the aa/reActPSN v2.0 user account.

Edittttttttttt: I missed the post from TitaniumL confirming he didn't need the act.dat file from his main user. That's 2 confirmations at least

I've read users in other forums on Rogero using reactpsn.

Even though I'm on Rebug, try the same steps I've done from this post and hopefully it works for you.

I used your method (posted: http://www.ps3hax.net/showpost.php?p...3&postcount=34) word for word, downloaded every file again from the links provided:

1. Disabled my internet connection from Network settings on PS3.
2. Created 'exdata' folder and put GTA SA .rap file in it and placed the 'exdata' on the root of FAT32 USB device plugged in right-hand front USB Port. Made sure it's the only USB device connected.
3. Installed ReActPSN via package manager in XMB (had it on the same usb ready to install).
4. Created a new user profile on ps3 called 'aa' and logged on.
5. Loaded 'ReActPSN' from the aa profile (obviously since I'm logged on) by pressing x.
6. The PS3 restarted and got the corrupted data restore message (this is normal) and pressed 'o' to cancel.
7. aa profile was renamed to reActPSN v2.0 1rif 0edat (and did not logon to it now just checked it's name and was renamed).
8. Logged in to my normal user profile (NOT aa), removed the usb device, installed GTA SA PKG NPUD version to match the RAP file you linked me to.
9. Failed.
