I have successfully installed MiralaTijera CFW 4.31, with METHOD 1 in Chapter 2 of my guide below.

So no FSM dongle is needed on any OFW 4.31 or lower. You will still need a hardware flasher(of course), to flash the patched valid dump.

Just thought I would share my findings with everyone.

As far as I understand if we patch a 4.31 CFW like your method 2 says for 4.30 it should be OK to flash it over 4.31 OFW without the need of FSM.

The only problem with rogero is that his CFW still is 4.30 based.. right ?

Method 2 in my guide uses FSM. It can be done on OFW 4.31 already, with Rogero 4.31.

Method 1 does not need FSM, so it would not work with Rogero 4.30 on OFW 4.31. Because you are installing it from recovery screen. So you can not install 4.30 over 4.31.

Well that new MiralaTijera CFW 4.31, is real 4.31 based. So it works to install it from the recovery screen. After flashing the Three Musketeers patched dump, of course.

so this custom firmware maybe can be used to 4.31-3.56 method right ? wish i had the ps3 to test it :P

Yeah I meant method 1 sorry, but yeah like I said, all we need is rogero to upgrade his 4.30 to the 4.31 bases, and we can start forgetting FSM, unless you want to dehash or something by going for 3.55

does it work on PS3 with Min FW 3.56, since the 3 Mas Patch only works upi to 4.30?
