Yep it will. All you have to do is plug it into your PS3 via a USB cable and press the PS button.

do you always have to plug it through USB in order to use it??? or just the 1st time?

First time. That is part of the paring process that every controller you buy has to go through in order to work over bluetooth.
Argueably Sony thinks that pairing over wire is "more secure". You have to do the same thing in linux using something called sixpair before you can use it through bluetooth. |
