I've been using Iris since the psx support came out for it. It would be interesting if that actually did it. It would mean I chose psx over psn. Can't say I'm not having fun with it though.

It might be the reason I'm not so sure. Maybe it's a coincidence a few people banned after using Iris for PS3 backups.. Or maybe it's different CFW.. Hmm..

It's still possible to unban though the build is only as likely to last as any CFW console that signs in and can only be done with a working console ID. I've been 'unbanned' for a few weeks now.

At the cost of someone else possibly getting banned. If there was some other way that can trick their servers into thinking that console is not banned.

I don't like the random ID theft, It's only going to make future products harder or even impossible to hack and the reason why Sony has gotten much more agressive with cfw.

Yeah I was asked by friends and lil bro if I was guna make new account. I laughed and said hell noo, if Sony don't want my money, then screw em. All there psn games and dlc is out on net for free anyways. I will just save my money for better things, and pirate the sh*t out of there psn. Most of it is overpriced anyways.

Its not the backup manager, the bans got more aggressive after that 2 day psn "lockdown" for "maintenance ". I honestly think it took that long cause they were installing a new cfw Sniffer for banning. My secondary account was fine for a month until after the psn maintenance, the moment they were done. My account was banned, I use my own personal psunban with my private secondary console id. So I know my psunban didn't get blocked cause I tried it on friends account on my ps3 and it still works.

Sony did something during that maintenance window. Were back to the cat and mouse game for psn store access

What does the ban mean? Are you restricted in any other way apart from not being able to login to the PSN? Sony, Microsoft and game developers can protect their interests very easily by including an online key. No key means no online. I always wonder why they do not do that with all online games?

When you login to the PSN with a CFW then you are taking a risk. I don't think it matters which File Manager you were using.

It really has nothing to do with your manager, homebrew or anything else specific, I have no homebrew other than multiMan I also haven't played online for the best part of two years and never run multiMan whilst connected.

Hell I haven't even played a game that required 3.56+ firmware let alone made a backup of one so all those theories can be laid to rest.

Make any connection to psn and sooner rather than later the ban will come, I have no issues with it at all.
