ProgSkeet 1.2: problem with Samsung K9F1G08U0B-PIB0
Hi there!
I use a ProgSkeet 1.2 with a zif socket nand tsop48 (desoldering nands from mobo). I did a lot of COK-002 with Samsung K9F1G08U0A-PIB0 nands onboard, never had a problem. Now I have to do a SEM-001 with Samsung K9F1G08U0B-PIB0. WinSkeet recognizes the nand as ECF1009540 (64x1024), but I always have different dumps, both the first nand and the second one. My setup is identical from what I have always used to dump/flash the nand type A (COK-002), so I cannot understand why I can't read correctly this nand type B. I use 1223 bitstream, but I also tried 0031 and 2121, with the same result (always different dumps and verification fail almost for all the blocks)... What can I do? Thank you for your support.

Use an external power supply 3.3v-1000mAh, progskeet does not have enough power to turn on nand chip.

the clip. it may not be sat correctly or it may be worn allready. it happens there made from really soft plastic LDPE maybe? anyway you need to take some good shots ot the inside of the clip so you can zoom in on a pc aand see if the pins are all forward nad not stuck back. also see if there not bent or any dirt / bits of plastic are not blocking the pins. then take a shot of the NANDS and see if the legs look ok (not bent) some have had good reults putting a slight "twist" pressure on the clip (but only slight pressure) you dont want to damage the NANDS legs |

Clip? I don't use any clips. I use a zif socket nand tsop48, never had a problem with nands type A.

this then reduces power to the progskeet that then starts to miss sectons in the dumping / writing proccess. this is one of the issues that makes it a pain in the ass for downgrading. the other is the bad block issue. using the off board flasher that sarah1331 had made up is perfect to stop this issue. or if a way to use the nor type test points can be found then the console can be powered up solving all of this. but anyway in a thread somewhere (i will try and find it) the amp reading was taken with the NAND off board and compared it to the amps taken with the NAND still on board and there was a large draw of power from the ps3 board on the 3.3v line. this is assumed to be from the starship and syscon ****edit**** lol zif socket .... i missed that he is using that. so never mind lol ![]() ************* [ - Post Merged - ] ************* so your lifting the NANDS off the board **edit** you say this in the first post. sorry. i missed this. well you shouldn't be having any probs. i take it the legs are cleaned? bit of a stupid question i know seeing as your removing the NANDS you will obviously be cleaning the legs first Last edited by baileyscream; 02-02-2013 at 08:25 AM. |

I always desolder the nands, the power supply is stabilized from an external source. I read and write pretty much well nands type A, always at first shot. I think the problem is some incompatibility between ProgSkeet 1.2 and nands type B.
EDIT: yes, I cleaned very well both nands, and also the zif socket. Inviato dal mio GT-I8150 con Tapatalk 2 |
