Legitimate cheat software/device/app

It's arguable that the PS3 has been the most difficult to pirate for, largely with the consistent updates to fight any successful attempts to hack the anti-piracy techniques implemented in the PS3. In doing so, they've also managed to prevent people from messing with games and how they were meant to be played.

What I don't understand, is why Sony doesn't release their own legitimate cheating device or app?

After paying for a game, don't we have the right to play it however we want? For those of us who have played the game legitimately and would like to continue doing so with a few modifications to make the game more fun, we are forced to subvert the system in a way that also allows piracy to be possible, wouldn't it make sense to offer a legitimate way for people to enter cheats and mods to single player modes, to avoid people going down this other, non-preferred avenue?

It's like Itunes; it's accessible, it's what people demand, and it's legitimate. What reason is there for completely preventing former heavyweights like AR/Gameshark from doing their magic?

I agree & all they care about is online & making money + preventing cheating on PSN. Online is understandable to prevent cheats, but offline no reason why ever game does not have cheats, like the old days ,"real gaming"..They have a anti cheat policy which blows .If they offered LAN/solo cheats ,most would not be modding cause they would not need to.

Then they wonder why people like myself, try to find a way to mod games for fun I do miss all them goods like Game Shark especially/Game genie. They lock things down ,then they see it get hacked & they deserve it .They try & control the players to much over kill & this is another reason why games get modified / consoles ..

Many of us always want more & that is how they like it .They keep giving you a little so you keep coming back hooping it will be different next time & they keep raping you for your cash ..

Yeah, I had a hard life trying to play FF13 without some sort of enhancements. It's really borderline suicide battles throughout the whole game. If the characters didn't heal after each battle? the game would be unplayable.

I wouldn't say FF13 had suicide battles throughout the whole game, I definitely think the game forced you to adopt a new playing style inconsistent with FF thus far (ie. Magic and buffs are compulsory, not just attack attack attack.); which I don't have a problem with. First couple of times I played it for fun (several years in between mind you), yeah it was fun to sit back, grind each level out till you max out the crystarium at each chokepoint and you can play strategic, comfortable while still challenging to achieve 5 star battles. But if I'm going to play that game again, I'm tired of the restriction of money, and without having to grind, be able to just play the game with my crystarium maxed out at each story point. I actually think it's fun that the game limits how much you can potentially be at each level because without it, playing a game with full stats from the start is no fun.

So, I'd continue to replay this game if I had the option to mod unlimited cash and CP; legitimately. I've got Game Genie on the way, which is working a treat so far, but what is the freaking deal with preventing active modding of a game rather than just the saves?

Seriously, sell that cheat app on a PSN subscription model (single player only), have a dedicated team making cheats and hacks (of course, with the player agreeing to terms and conditions that they are in no way responsible for a game ****ing up); I would sign up in a heartbeat.
