Some guys like to dual boot, so they can play backups on CFW and then switch to OFW to play online.

U have to have 2 separate hard drives, because the slim models keep part of the firmware on the hard drive.
Dual booting is more complicated thank just downgrading and using the CFW.

And playerkp does offer a downgrade service, his price is less than what u will pay for the needed equipment.

Thanks for the info. Yes, i'm sure having it done is cheaper but i like doing this stuff. I may still send it out. Don't need dual booting because i don't intend to paly on line. Would there ever be reason to upgrade back to my original 4.31 and can that be done with the E3 flasher? Or can i just get it from Sony online?

I dont know y u would ever want to go back to official firmware.
But if u did want to, u could just update it to the Official Firmware, either thru the ps3 or download in from sony onto a thumb drive.

You will still need to get a micro sd card, and a usb flash drive.
Trust this man, he knows his stuff.
