where is the console ID saved?
i got one from a broken PS3 and want to flash it to my working PS3

on ps3devwiki is only shi and google only finds crap about stupid ppl playin BO2

i want to flash it to my PS3
thats why i need the offset where i can edit the cID/MAC to patch it back to my PS3

Hey

If you're jailbroken, you can use PSIDPatch to patch the console ID you want. However, it is a temporary change, it's only changed in RAM so once you reboot the console, you need to change it again.

I know where the console ID is saved at some place, but can't tell you the other places. I heard it was saved at 15 différents place. I tried to change with an Hex Editor mine on 2 differents place and it just bricked my console. (Ofcourse I had a backup lol don't worry)

only thought it was saved on 4 different parts
well anyway i use PSIDpatch instead now
at least i dont have to take my ps3 apart and install the flasher again

i already thought the 5 bucks i spent for the cID/MAC were useless :D (ok the mac is useless but at least i have working unban tool with my own cID which doesnt use other PS3s!)

As far as I know you cannot permanently change your console id.

And yes it does appear in 4 places, 2 appearances are in eid0, one in plain text and one encrypted and the other 2 are in eid5, again one in plain text and one encrypted. You should be able to change the plain text all you want, but if you change the encrypted console id your ps3 will be bricked until you change it back to what it should be. As of now we cannot decrypt eid5 at all so forget about it, because changing encrypted eid0 only will not help you.
