That's an easy answer, they've gone commercial. They used their core base to attract casual gamers and capitalized on it by giving the masses the more arcade style type game they wanted. In the process they've abandoned their minority core base. I recently beat Revelations on the 3DS and I liked it quite a bit. RE6 wasn't as bad. It's only real flaw to me is that it's not the survival horror RE of the past.

@stevorkz
What has happened to Resident Evil 6, is because Capcom doesn't like to make money. You see, once upon time, there was this game called Onimusha. It was a 3rd person supernatural horror action adventure game that came out even before Gears of War. But for whatever reason, instead of continuing that franchise, they decided to incorporate its "casual action" style into the Resident Evil series starting with 4. So as you can see, Capcom could've had TWO fan bases: the ones who like bloody gore splitting horror violence with a bit of badassry thrown in (Onimusha), and the ones who liked being scared shi*less and wetting their pants (Resident Evil). But no, they don't like making money. Apparently Capcom are Democrats. |

Also, democrats would want them to make more money so they could tax them more. Think about it.

Since they kept the Devil May Cry franchise, I don't see how they couldn't have also kept the Onimusha franchise instead of essentially combining it with RE Last edited by firepixiedarien; 02-03-2013 at 08:51 PM. |

I completely agree with your post
@stevorkz
During the PSX and PS2 era Capcom created some of the greatest series of all time but after that they became possessed with greed and completely ruined them by turning them into action-packed , DLC-riddled, casual crap just to attract COD fans(and failing to do so at that). Resident Evil turned in what you have already seen and only maybe a complete reboot can save it now(Revelations it's a somewhat good step in that direction), Onimusha got turned into a browser game and Devil May Cry got needlessly rebooted into the inferior DmC so,for now, i don't expect anything good anymore from Capcom.

For example, I havnt got "stuck" once yet in RE6. Not at all. Im basically walking through the game like a long mario bros level just to say that Ive finished it. Kill enemies, pick up the ammo and herbs they dropped, repeat. Then you get a boss battle where its attack pattern could be learned by a 5 year old and its dead with in a few minutes and before you know it, the credits for the Leon campaign start to roll. Enter Chris campaign where all of a sudden, within the same outbreak of the virus as the leon campaign, the zombies in this specific area decide to grow brains and pick up guns to shoot. Epic WTF. They may as well put RE6 into an arcade cabinet and throw it in the local arcade
