I had the ps3 working fine, but it wouldn't read games.

What I have done so far:
So I opened it up cleaned, and replied thermal paste.

REsults:
Now when I try to turn it on it will show the startup screen then freeze, or it won't show video at all.

blu rays fin up its either not connected tight or its faulty the original ps3s will freeze and turn off if there bluray is not connected properly

how can you not connect it properly, and no the ps3 won't shut off, in fact it will start fine without the drive, but you won't be able to load anything game related...

I agree with MJ999, needs a reball, GPU solder is cracked I'd imagine.

ya CHECHH01's but i had a cheche01 and everytime i diconnected the bluray the ps3 would freeze then shut down.

Instead you created this new error by pulling the mobo away from the heat sink
